Do people shop at Marshall's or TJ Maxx? I tried to shop in a Ross a few years ago, and it freaked me out. There was no organisation. It might as well have been goodwill, just with significantly less chance of finding something cool.
I love shopping at Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ross, but I treat them like thrift stores. Some of my favorite upscale-brand tights (Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui!) come from those stores, and I snagged a fantastic b&w striped blazer by Ralph Lauren a few months ago.
Not for clothes, clothes; it's too frustrating. But housewares, workout gear, socks, bras, and random gadgets? Essential.
They all require patience and energy.
So much so. Also what bon said -- I think I get more house stuff there than clothes. But if you're looking for a single item, like a sweater or a dress, you can get lucky. I've actually scored with shorts and pants there recently. And shoes, sometimes.
We picked up a great Chantal tea kettle there once for $19.95 or something.
Oooh, and house stuff, yes. Storage boxes and bath stuff. I need to go check out the Halloween decor again. I need a set of the antiqued "mercury glass" candle holders to put LED candles in.
I always feel that the best I'm going to in those shops is a decent component of my wardrobe, but thrifting might bet me a great piece. Never bought anything else there.
Brownie cupcake for dinner, and fuck alla y'alls. You can't take that away from me.
Oh, ita, that's all very worrisome. I'm glad you're ok.
I shop at TJMaxx for AllClad piece stock. And pillows. Only I don't have one here so I only do it every time I'm in Wichita. There is a rumor there's one going in next to the music store. I hope so!
There is a TJMaxx right next to the dojo. Which means I tend to be in the store once or twice a week. My usual goal is some tea that Amy got me hooked on. If I really want to shop and not just stroll around in the air conditioning, I have to keep a very open mind since they have such a hodge podge of stuff.
Dear Buffistas, if any of you find a size 12 b&w striped blazer at one of these sorts of stores, please snap a picture and send it to me? I may squeak and ask you to pick it up for me.
What? No, it is impossible for me to have too many b&w striped blazers. IMPOSSIBLE.
I get my sheets at Ross, and pillows: great deals. And I get my bras at the Rack: half the price of the regular store, and the selection's not too bad.
If you do as much layering as I do, Ross et al. are a great source for cheap knit tops to wear to work under a jacket or cardigan.
I get sheets from my parents. I'm not really comfortable with newfangled ideas, so I ust sticks plain colour haphazardly tossed sround
Same with my towelry.
