That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy Birthday, Cashmere, Megan, and ita's Dad!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Happy birthday, birthday people!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It's not as frequent or consistent as it is on the UP, and it can be very localized, but when it does happen, it can be really bad.

I was disappointed the whole time I spent in college in Rochester, there weren't any big snowfalls. But I was happy I was out of town the time it snowed in May, and extremely relieved that I missed the killer ice storm.

Because books.

lcat, what Tom said. It can mean snow every day.

Happy birthday to everyone! With cake.

I am a bit hung over. But in the best way. And now I'm going to fly to California. Whoo.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

huh ... and MY environmental excitement in college was an earthquake (3.5 for those keeping track ... which is pretty strong for Pennsylvania)

brillig

Thirds on lake effect snow. If you've heard of Buffalo being referred to in terms of amazing blizzards? Erie is right there in the same weather pattern. But when you're not dealing with blizzards, the lake is gorgeous.

y mother is recovering nicely and she's starting to believe the (true) nice things we're saying about her. I think she's the most popular person in the hospital. They had to bring in extra furniture.

That's good to hear!

I am working at home today because my car started doing this awesome thing where it stalls out when I'm decelerating (making it seem like the brakes are locking). Really, car? You just got almost $1000 worth of work LAST MONTH. As always when something happens with the car, am worried it is a sign of the end times. I'm finally making progress paying off credit cards and, feh, do not want to have car payments!

In happier news, I think we came up with a halloween costume idea last night based on the photo shoot on ANTM. Different Michael Jacksons!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

lisah, I love it! That could work with Madonna, too.

I think I'm going to poach Erin's costume of post-apocalyptic Velma, with Frankie as Scooby. Totally gonna craft a "zombie arm" dog toy.

Indeed! I think we are going to be Zombie MJ, Jackson 5 era MJ (which was by far the scariest one in the ANTM photo shoot), Bad MJ, and invalid on trial MJ.

One of my 5-year old friends wanted us to be "Scooby Dooby Doo gang." Hope she's not disappointed!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

DO EEEETT! It was a fun costume! I wish I'd known; I would have sent you my Velma machete with the eyeshadow.

I think I'm going to be generic dressed up person and wear my Detroit event outfit, then clean and ship borrowed gear back to kind lendy peeps that Monday, if that's ok with my Lender darlings.

I share my name with a Miss New Mexico, a pastor, and a research chemist on the East Coast. Not bad.

Happy birthday to so many people, Cash, ita's dad, Megan and Matt!!!! Streamers and confetti all around!

I will be the whirling dervish of garage sale prep today. As soon as I finish my 2nd cup of coffee. I slept a little late this AM, since I had less than 2 hours night before, AIFG!

ETA: Tip to smonster -- start looking for orange knee-high socks NOW. I tried finding them the day of the party and it was unpossible.
