We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My pink polo I'm currently wearing is the only pink thing in my wardrobe, outside of a few pairs of underwear.

I bought a few mock turtlenecks for this winter--with my short neck, mock is the way to go, otherwise a real turtleneck just gets bunched up.

I just ordered a few argyle sweaters and am trying to talk myself out of ordering more. Also trying to avoid buying a corduroy button-up big shirt that I can layer with my mock turtlenecks. I've been getting so cold without my insulation that I need more thick shirts/sweaters than I have in the past.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why do you have to leave the house?

Apparently it has something to do with setting a circadian rhythm. Changing clothes is also supposed to contribute.

I've run errands in my sleep clothes, when my sleep clothes are a t-shirt and yoga pants, and the errands are short and trivial and urgent.

I have a big head, but I also have a long neck. I've never thought about how I look in turtlenecks except for how they make my boobs look bigger.

Jilli, you're totally compliant.

I want argyle sweaters. I do have argyle socks.

Because books.

I was talking to the new Finnish au pair at the bus stop, and asking about the midnight sun, or complete lack of sun. She said, yeah, it pretty much just sucks either way.

Pictures of the new glasses, Kathy?

I know the brand but not the model number, so I can't find them online right now. I'll post a pic after I find out the info from the doctor's office.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have a pretty normal-sized head, but barely any neck at all, so if I wore a turtleneck I would look like that guy Morty from the Bazooka gum comics. My skating coach is always telling me "Long neck." and I finally said to him, "Dude, I'll try, but this is all the neck I got."

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I loved the midnight sun. So! Much! Energy! Blackout drapes are a necessity, though.

Good lord, Suzi! I'm sorry. Hope it goes more quickly than they expect.

Another thing my sleep psych said (bear with me--she talks a lot, and it's on my mind) is that I need to have a peak operating time during the day. I don't. I never have. I've been just as good in the morning as in the evening as at noon. But apparently that's bad.

Video of a Deaf woman who hears her voice for the first time after cochlear implants.

That video is leaving me with all sorts of questions. There are clearly a few places in it where she has her eyes closed or her hands over her eyes, and the technician asks her a question and she answers it. Everything I've ever read about cochlear implants says that an adult who gets an implant will not be able to understand speech right away, or perhaps ever, unless they became deaf later in life, after learning the language.
