Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Oh lord, ita. This is not prognosis based changing, right?

We are going to look at a new school for Grace tomorrow AM. PLEASE let it work out.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hope it works, Kat.

That's scary stuff, ita, but it's probably just wise preparation. I know I've said this here before, but it's a good practice for everyone to have their end of life documents in order, regardless of apparent health. So your mum is probably just taking a good precaution.

We're currently learning the signs for sports stuff from the DVDs my mom sent.

The new school is further away, but I hope (a) I like the teacher and (b) the program will work schedule wise. ALSO the new school has a nurse on site 5 days a week, which, given our aide, would be a nice change. Our aide has not yet suctioned Grace while she has been at school and does not know how to deal with "this stuff" (imagine her hand twirling around her neck, where a trache would be).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know. The discussion started off testy because of broken-telephone flawed communication, so we didn't exactly start out o the right foot. Some people really need to not relay information, just in case.

My will plans are, in effect, to leave everything to my mother. Not the most practical solution, I guess.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh ita !. I wish I could do more to help you out.

But I do think this makes car shopping easier. You can put it off until you come back, right?

ION, no one tell me how tasty the Halloween JoJos are, okay? 'Cos I bought myself a box of Count Chocula, and I don't need Halloweenie chocolatey cookie goodness ... yeah, I'm not convincing myself here, either.

Fingers crossed that I can take time off without messing up too much stuff at work. Dammit.

Ah, fuck it.

Watching Mean Girls. LiLo, what happened to you?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

LiLo, what happened to you?

Cocaine plus an entourage.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh ita ! I'm glad you are going home, fingers crossed that work takes care of itself while you're gone. When is your mother's surgery? Isn't it tomorrow?

Kat, fingers crossed that the new school works out. The aide can't deal with the trache? oy!

My poor girl was plum wore out today. She just weeped (er, wept) off on and on for the last hour or so she was awake, more like the last hour and a half. Just too tired, even she knew it wasn't over any thing really, just missing her cousin. I tucked them into bed early.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't think I've ever gotten to the airport that early for a domestic flight on purpose. Except maybe in Vegas? But still.

Well, if you need to check a bag and get through security, it can really take that long to arrive at your gate before they board thirty minutes before the scheduled departure time. Not that I really end up at airports that early, but I know that I am risking it. Cutting it close happens, but so does missing flights.

ita !, I tend to even think about the fact I need a DNR and will only when force to by circumstances. I hope that's all this is for your mom. Which reminds me, I need a DNR and will.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cass speaks truth. Beau and I were traveling to CA this summer on a 7 am flight and we arrived at the airport 90 minutes before the flight and I'm thinking we were golden.

We got to the gate while the flight was fucking boarding - very few people in the gate area. I didn't have time to eat anything before the flight, which I want to do to avoid air sickness. Oh well.
