In Laura world we are excited that ESPN has finally published the 8 teams going to Bethesda for the National Invitational. Only 2 of the teams are public schools, Ely and Coolidge from DC. It is pretty heavy duty scary competition, but we are thrilled to have this exposure. They have a parade for the team tomorrow followed by a big celebration at the football field.

So I submitted a couple scenes to a theatre company who is once again doing a run of shows where they improvise full plays from initial scenes. They said my scenes weren't a good fit for the show, but they did really like them, so I can come see any show for free if there are seats or get advance tickets for half off. I have no idea whether everyone who submitted and didn't get in got a similar e-mail (it wasn't a mass e-mail, but it could have been a form letter for all I know), but as rejections go, it's pretty nice!
So, I've been admitted to the hospital & will have a ct scan & an ekg before the surgeon comes to see me. I'm getting "normal" saline-- whatever that means.
Ack! I'm glad you're being taken care of. "Normal" saline is for people who don't qualify for the special saline. Actually, as you know, they're just making sure your blood volume stays up.
Oh my goodness. Hope it turns out to be nothing much, sumi. The word normal in there is hopefully aa good sign.
