It may be just me and one crew member today. A crew member just texted in that he couldn't sleep last night - I suspect that he was up reading. Which I understand, but damn. You know two people are out sick and you know how much we need to do today, and it's a short day, and you can't suck it up and make it through? WTF.

My day is not starting well. Om...

Question is... do I call him on it? And if he cops to it, do I write him up or otherwise chastise him?

The way sj feels about her new sellers is how I feel about my new(ish) landlady. She just gave me sushi. She is letting me pay my security deposit in installments, and let me take a payment holiday in February for Mardi Gras. She fixes shit. She loans me stuff (like an air mattress and a ladder). She returns my DVDs. I heart J.

Meanwhile, my landlord is being an asshat. We sent him a letter a couple of weeks ago asking if we could extend the lease for a month or two if our sale hasn't gone through yet. He replied no and that he miraculously already has a new tenant to move in the day after our lease expires, even though he has never showed the place. So if there is any delay with the Purchase of the house, we're screwed.

sj I hope that there is no delay in the purchase and you can get away from the horrible landlord and neighbors.

Penny is feeling better today. Right now she's sticking her paws under the bedroom door trying to get out. I wish I could let her out. Last night I put Dean in the bedroom (figuring he'd meow and scratch at the door if I closed him out) and it went okay. Until this morning when Penny started biting his tail and trying to pounce on him.

sj, if there are issues, you can work with the moving company to hang on to your stuff for a few days (it will cost $$, but it's doable) and you can stay at a hotel or with family or something while it gets worked out.

It's annoying and stressful, but there are definitely solutions - keeping them in mind now as you move forward could help you set things up so if contingency plans are necessary, the groundwork has been laid out. This stuff happens all the time though, so there are mechanisms in place to deal with it. much ~ma that it all goes according to plan though.

In other news, we didn't hear back about the potential tenant, so I put a call into my credit union to talk about short sale-ing it. Have an appointment to discuss it with the boss man on Monday afternoon. Crossing fingers!

Thanks, Nora. I do know this, but I am hoping it doesn't have to come to that because of the stress. If we keep our current closing date, we will actually have a few weeks overlap to clean up the new place, paint, and do some minor before we move in, which I really don't want to be living in the middle of. Plus we have to make our current place "broom clean" before we leave and do a walk through with our landlord and hopefully get our deposit back.
