Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, yeah, we did all no VOCs for our house except the poinsettia red accent walls, for which it was unavailable, and whoo boy could you tell the difference.

It looks great, Erin, what a pretty color!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

SJ I wonder if you could tolerate low- or no-VOC paints. I HATE the smell of regular paint, and have happily used a brand called Yolo (no-VOC) and Benjamin Moore's Natura (which is I think only low-VOC but still not at all fume-y compared to regular paint). They are a little more expensive, but in the scale of things paint is relatively cheap.

That's what we're going to buy, but I'm still not going to be doing any of the painting. My tolerance for anything even vaguely chemical is so low right now. I'm just hoping with the low fume paint, I will be able to be in the house within a day or so of painting without being really sick. In the meantime, I'll be here packing.

meara, are you freaking serious?!!!? Someone was paying for my vaca, I'd get there at three a.m., buy coffee, shlep their luggage and be their freaking PA all weekend.

Thanks, Liese!! And I will have enough of the gallon left to paint some other stuff, like some unpainted wooden chairs we haul outside when we have a party. WOOT.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

meara, that is ridonkulous.

Gorgeous color, Erin! Also, ::smooch::.

sj, not to ovewhelm you with recs, but milk paint may be worth checking out. I helped a friend paint his living room with that stuff, and could stick my face right in the can and inhale. I do wonder if it bothers those allergic to milk products...

Also, I have finished the rec, talked to my committee chair for one NP, started a task for same NP. My tea has gone cold, and so have my feet! Time for more tea and add some legwarmers or turn on the heat.

When I have a few extra bucks, I'm going to head to our local paint recycling place and get some paint for random bits of furniture that I have.

Luckily she found a friend who is willing to drive her (I also pointed out that while she could take the very first train of the morning and be there pretty much on time, I didn't know where she was COMING from, and so didn't know how she would be getting to that train! She has a job on a farm a few hours out of town and has many friends here in town to stay with (she often house or pet-sits for some extra cash and a weekend place to stay in the city).

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have had an irritatingly productive day. Irritating in that I was futzing around with expensify for fun, and discovered that I could automate a process that's been really a pain for me in the past. Gnarf. But I am going to focus on the positive -- I may never have to do that process that way again in the future!

Of course, now I want everything to magically automate for me. Books! I have organized you on my shelf one way in the past! Please read my saved preferences in my mind an reorganize yourselves automatically on the shelves now! Laundry! I have hung you up by color and size in the past! Please remember my preferences and hang yourselves up now!

My day has been crazy-good productive. That makes me nervous.

And I am going to have drinks and some really tasty, bad for me bar food in 20 minutes. NOM.
