Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Being the sound guy I am, I have to say, a lot of the tv shows I watch seem to have more and more scenes where the folks are clearly wired for sound on radio mics... And the mics are clearly buried under too much clothing, and they didn't spend any time in post to try and brighten up the sound, so it's all muffled. C'mon people. For years they did this. What happened?

Lack of union people. Outsourcing. The usual suspects.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am sorry; I have to crash now....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What happened?

It's always surprising/disappointing when technique devolves instead of continuously getting better.

But there are musical recordings in the fifties and then again in the early seventies which sound so much richer than recordings do today, because there was a particular balance of analog recording technique/equipment and musical competence.

Then you lose a generation of studio musicians who were trained in jazz, move to digital add drum machines and voila - you've got the 80s. Steve Lillywhite figures out how to get that gated drum sound and at first it sounds so BIG and impressive but then it's so easy to duplicate that it becomes this cheezy effect done without any nuance.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

At Genie's with Jilli, we will order a bacon Bloody Mary and then bacon benedict. The time she ordered something else, we got a side of bacon to split. I regret nothing

REGRET NOTHING. Also, I want a bacon Bloody Mary RIGHT NOW.

Well, that was an exciting evening. The GCS site had been hacked. Thank G-D Pete is able to stay calm and focused when dealing with that, because my brain shorted out. But it looks like we got everything fixed, knock wood.

Now I am going to go take a bath, paint my nails, and wait for my brain to stop going "iiiiieeeeee site broken!"

I forgot how long it takes this computer to import CD's. I ordered 100 years of Jazz Guitar. 4 CD's of music. Should be fun to listen to.

I'm thinking of taking my old zoom lens for my Pentax K1000, that I haven't used in YEARS, and doing this to it: [link]
