That's great they accepted your offer, sj! If you can go with the home inspector on the inspection, do it! It's a great way to learn about how the house works.
We'll both be at the home inspection as will our real estate agent. The house buying book we're reading said that if the home inspector doesn't want you there, don't go with that home inspector. We definitely need advice about the boiler, etc. We've never had to deal with that kind of thing.
The good news is the current owners use about a 1/4 of the oil per year that we use in this drafty apartment, so yay savings! It will practically pay for the taxes.
I made Ethiopian food, and it actually tastes more or less like the Ethiopian food at the restaurants. I'm fairly impressed with myself. (And with the cookbook.)
It's lucky there are two of you too. I should have had someone with me during the home inspection because there was stuff he said that I promptly forgot.
Huh. Work internet blocks wordpress.com blogs and the private message feature on FanFiction.net, but I can access stories there.
I'm working on hour 11 of a 13 hour shift, and decided to take advantage of the wifi here. Hi, everybody!
sj, congratulations, may the rest of it all work out.
Feel better Nora. You too, Erin and askye.
((((smonster)))) there aren't any easy answers for either side of that question.
Yikes. Buffista~ma needed. There are other offers in. We modified my offer to be more compliant with how short selling bank has dealt with offers before (thankfully selling agent is on it, and has dealt with this bank before). Switched to me paying for termite check ($100) and equal share of closing costs (I start by asking for seller to cover 100% closing). Thankfully Apple stock is up, so that is affordable. Dunno if that is enough to boost me to the top of the pile. Hope so!!! Eeep!! Cross your fingers, toes, or whatever.
ION- Happy bday MFN.
Extremities crossed for house ~ma, omnis!
Eep. Company from Friday had asked for a decision by Monday noon, so I just wrote them back saying "V excited but...MOAR money!" (using some language suggested by Java). Crossing fingers.
fingers crossed for both of you
fingers crossed for Meara too.
I'm out of fingers.
Basement~ma, omnis! and fingers crossed, meara! And health~ma to sick buffistas.
Today there was no electricity when I got up, which was very strange. I had to go outside (to the stairswell), and flip a switch-thingy in the box (to which I need to stand on a chair, because the box is located high on the wall). This called for pancakes for breakfast, because no way I'm letting this day to start in this way (which was laying in bed, thinking why the hell we have no electricity when we're about to show the place for potential renters today and I knew I paid the bill).
In conclusion, my self pity comes in three forms: angst, bitching, and pancakes' making.
