Dammit, I'm a sugar bowl.
Oh, thank god I wasn't on a phone call when I read that and laughed.
'Dirty Girls'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Opened up the laptop and blew the fan out. It's still making a horrible grinding noise. It sounds like the damned fan is going to catch on fire. I was thinking about trying to replace the fan myself, since the replacement part is only about $70 (as opposed to the $350 the Genius Bar would charge). Unfortunately, the fan is under the left-hand speaker, and that looks to be a pretty complicated part replacement. *sigh*
Sean, take a look here: [link]
Thanks, Scola.
Well, it's going to be a couple of weeks before I can actually afford to order the new fan, but this one is making such a *loud* horrible grinding noise, I have to ask: is it worse to let the fan grind, or to just disconnect it until I can replace it? I can't imagine it's doing much to keep the heat down right now, but the computer operates okay....
I drive myself absolutely around the bend worrying about this stuff.
Sean I can help with that fan replacement. I've done them in the past.
Yeah, that would be cool. The cables for the wifi antenna and the isight make me nervous. For now, I'm going to disconnect it and keep a close eye on the temperature. I really am a little worried the fan is going to catch fire.
Interesting. So far, the laptop is actually running about ten degrees cooler with the fan disconnected. I haven't tried to watch any video yet, which always drives the heat up. Is the video card on the right or the left?
I'm a little teapot.
Short.
And stout.
That's what she said?? I dunno. I got nothing.
Shir, I promise, even though I work for a School of the Arts, and 2 floors above my office is a ton of MFA art students, I promise I will not chop you up and sell your body parts to them for art. Chain you up in my basement, sure. But.. I'm not one for all that blood with chopping up. Then ya gotta clean. And the bleach smell. Blah. Yuck. Plus, they are art students. That's a double wammy for no money.
(Mwah! Love ya! Hope you got your 6+hours of sleep, and your dreams were fabulous, and all your problems are solved)
We're going back to see the house with the evil real estate agent tomorrow. After getting no bites on their second weekend, they came back with a more reasonable counter offer.
