You know, my big sister could really beat the crap out of her. I mean, really really.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Dental update: it's just a broken filling. (I say "just" because, given how badly it hurt, I was sure I would need a root canal or need a tooth [or more than one] pulled.) I'm amazed such a small thing can cause so much pain.

The dentist also said the X-ray is showing a bunch of nastiness in my upper sinus cavity, which seems odd to me, since I don't feel any stuffiness. But she compared today's X-ray to one from October, and said that there's definitely a noteworthy amount of gunk in there. So apparently the combination of the broken filling and pressure from sinus junk is what's causing the WHY GOD WHY level of pain.

The dentist can get me in at 2:00 to repair the filling, and has hooked me up with antibiotics and tramadol. (Kato is also on tramadol for his knee, so we can be stoners together. We'll just loaf around in the corner and stare intently at our feet.)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Steph, it's amazing how your sinuses can affect your teeth (I was once scheduled for a root canal when it turned out - yup, packed sinus; one clean-out session and the pain went away). Enjoy your tramadol - it's good stuff - and try to stay awake until you can get to the dentist.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Feel better, Dana and Ginger!

Steph, glad it's a somewhat easy fix.

Hivemind - I need a calorie tracker for iphone. Nothing fancy, free is highlty preferable. I've got some unexplained weightloss going on and my doctor wants to get an idea of the calories I consume daily.

smonster, I've used 'lose it' - which was free when I got it. pretty easy to use.

Because books.

That reminds me, does anyone know of a menstrual app? I need to keep track in one place, instead of various calendars and pieces of paper.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Tep, I'm thinking you need the full Welcome Back Kotter treatment: up your nose with a rubber hose.

That reminds me, does anyone know of a menstrual app?

Will it make my phone bleed?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

smonster, I use this website which is free but their app is not. I like it because their food database is very big and you can add things into it.

Teppy, I hope your tooth is out of pain very soon.

Dana and Ginger, feel better.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I'm glad it's an easy fix, Steph.

I am considering oatmeal, but it seems very far away.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Xposting the fuller explanation back from Natter:

Thanks! Have downloaded Lose It and started using it. I've lose about ten pounds in the last month and about twenty since moving here seven months ago. Now, in the last month I've done some physical work, and I haven't eaten out hardly at all, and I've been off birth control. But... it's a little worrisome. I eat peanut butter and cheese every day, but not a whole lot of processed sugar, and I drink only water outside of a cup of coffee or so. I hope I'm just being paranoid. The doc is testing me for thyroid stuff (T4, T3, and TSH) and we'll see.

I'm also partly amused and partly annoyed at watching myself enjoying being skinnier even while I'm worried it's because of something serious. Hello, cultural influence.

I was about 155 when I moved here, and now I'm 136. I don't think I've weighed that little in a decade or more...

Oh I get that, Smonster! I lost 20 pounds the summer my migraines were really bad...and I definitely wouldn't take bad migraines again to lost it again, but at least it was a nice side effect.
