OK, Drama Llama needs to be done away with. She's actually evil. It's time to speak Latin in front of the books.
PB: so clueless it's actually sad.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We had an employee that I recommended against hiring because she was obviously too structured for our (haphazard at best) work environment. Not because I thought she wasn't technically competent or anything, but when you show up to your interview with a folder with your resume in colour and colour copies of your certifications, it's not our company you really wanted to work for.
I tried to stress that in my interview with her, but she took the job anyway. She quit a couple months later, much like I expected, but she was back on the phone with HR, angry, asking why we hadn't backed up her lie about how long she'd worked for us.
What could we possibly owe her in that situation?
But my favourite was the second PM on my big initial project at my current job--saying, as he left, that he'd be back, circumventing my boss and going to the CIO to keep a position there. How could you possibly want to work in those circumstances? Whose pride wraps all the way around like that and comes up on the side with all the shame attached?
JESUS GOD. PB just asked why.
Oh, I know. I had a guy that I fired list me as a reference. Part of the issue was his maturity, and it was several years later. Luckily, it was an old email address that I just happened to check. There was an auto message saying I didn't work there and to email a different address. I didn't get anything to the new address, so I just left it alone, because he was a good kid, but I couldn't recommend him based on what I knew.
Debet, I think I skimmed over it before, so yay for the good news.
I just realized that, for the first time this semester, I don't need to go into the office early in the morning. All my classes are in the afternoon, but every day so far, I've had to get in pretty early to prep things or grade things or work on paperwork things or something. But tomorrow, I've got only about half an hour worth of work that I need to do before my classes. I can go to the drugstore and get my car washed and go to the drycleaners and all the other errands that I've been putting off because I've had no time!
Also, I seem to be building up a collection of lunch containers. The latest is a Ms. Bento [link] which I'm going to fill with leftover Thai tofu, green beans, and rice for tomorrow.
Yay, Debet! And yay, sans posting issues, Sean!
Smonster, how is drama llama even still there? I hope she finds another place to bless with her special presence soon.
Wow, smonster, that's just mind-boggling. How can someone be like that?

What Zenkitty said. That is ridiculous work behavior. Is she 12?
Thanks, everyone for listening to me bitch today. I'm going to try to let this go and get some sleep.
Fuck, utilities in CT are expensive. I paid a $60+ electric bill and I just got my gas bill and it was over $100. What. the. fuck. When I lived in DC, I used to turn down the thermostat when I left the house. I haven't done that here, and I had no idea how much difference it made.
Also, is 80 cubic feet of gas a lot to use in a month? I've never lived in a place with gas heat that I paid for.
I don't know about the volume, but I know in Mass we'd get gas bills in the winter for $150-200 easy. Y'all have been having a mild winter, right?
My gas company does a budget billing thing, where I pay the same amount through the year. I don't get the benefit of a single-digit gas bill in the summer, but I'm not hit with triple digits in the winter, either.
