Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

An example of linear thinking from my DH who I think is way wicked smart:

After dating for many, many months and spending most nights together, I finally asked if maybe he wanted to find a place to live together. He said no. After picking up my smashed heart, I finally asked why, thinking he was going to tell me about some fundamental problem in our relationship. His answer "Well, it took me a long time to find this apartment and I really like it. Plus I hate moving." My next question was, how about if I move in here and he said, without a moment's thought, sure.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

TCG and I have much fewer arguments now that I make birthday and Christmas lists. And his idea of occasionally surprising me is to not so subtly buying something when he thinks I am not paying attention after we've been in a story and I have seen something I like. He's just not that good at gift giving or being creative, and I have come to not interpret that as an indication of his feelings.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Scrappy, that story cracks me up.

M gave me a kitty for my birthday last year, so frankly I feel he's off the hook for at least the next ten years when it comes to having to find the "right" gift for me.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Windsparrow, how are you doing?

I'm wiped out enough that when I bumped into coworkers at the store, I actually told the truth when they asked how I was. I'm exhausted and worried (less now than I was before I saw Daniel). Thank you all for your support. It means a thing.

The food at the hospital back in Casa Grande was definitely better than average. And the place I was at in January was decent. I remember their soup fondly, and once I figured out that I could tick off more than one item in each category on the request list for each meal, I was much happier with the amount of veggies I got. This hospital where Daniel is has done away with offering people choices. And they keep sending him coffee - not good, because he won't drink it, and the smell of it is making him nauseated.

Totally!

And I meant to say earlier, my condolences to Epic, and lots of ~ma for Daniel & WindSparrow.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Scrappy, yeah.

Dan's first birthday gift to me was awesome - it was an iTouch - but he had a touch more income at that point.

We "bought" each other a Nook Color this year (one to share) but honestly, that was paid for with bday money his mom sent us, and we probably should have spent it on bills.

But we do love it muchly, and use it all the time.

I buy 80% of Dan's gifts from ThinkGeek.com, and circle stuff I'd like from the catalog for him, and send him links to stuff I'd like for Xmas.

Sure, I'd love for him to spontaneously pick out something perfect for me that I hadn't thought of, but oh, well. He's awesome in so many other ways.

And I LOVE ThinkGeek! WIN!

Once again, Scrappy is wise.

Hubby says the biggest problem with male/female communications is that women think men are smarter than they are. There are no secret meanings, they're very linear thinkers on the whole.

Ah, but see, I date women. It's all very complex, trying to understand one another...:)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What does not being smart have to do with being a linear thinker? It's not smart if your convoluted thinking gets you the wrong answer.

And, as usual, I end up on the "male brain" side of this one. It always confuses me when people try to figure out what I "really meant" by what I said or did. If I'd wanted to say something, I would have said it.
