Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Anyone want makeup? I have samples from Aromaleigh, of foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, and concealer in light/ivory shades, as well as Stay-Put eyebrow pencil in Dove, that I got last year and never opened. I also have a Max Factor Pan-Stik in Natural (101) that I tested and found it to be the wrong shade for me, so, basically unused except for a fingerswipe. My profile addy is good if anyone wants it.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Pix, not likely it's broken as that would have healed by now (and as someone who has broken a foot 3 times and sprained it far more...the breaks really do hurt far less). Soft tissue, OTOH, can take months to heal, and a full year or more for full recovery is not out of the ordinary for those of us no longer in the flush of quick-healing youth.

The foot i broke 2 years ago? The bone was healed in weeks. The ligaments and tendons still bug and the muscles get re-tweaked if i look at them funny. If you have access to a physical therapist who specialized in sports-injury they should be able to help you with strengthening exercises and quite possibly muscle work to break up any scar tissue in the muscles. Since $$$$ is likely an issue, a good supportive brace when you are active, RICE the rest of the time, and (gentle!) range of motion exercises (like tracing the alphabet forwards and then backwards) to keep the muscles from atrophying. If you have a nice deep footbath, i found doing the alphabet exercises in hot water (and then icing afterwards) to be very helpful. If you know anyone familiar with KT (or kinesiotape) hie the to a sporting goods supply store and pick some up, it is da bomb for supporting healing injuries without completely imobilizing the injured joint. But the technique it's really something you can piok up from internet instructional vids.

eta:: the technique is NOT something you can pick up quickly with self-instruction. My chiro is all over the stuff and teaches the technique at the local chiropractic college. once she shows me a taping technique i'm usually good to go, but there is some finesse to it.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

{{{Scrappy}}} I'm so sorry. You are in my thoughts.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

You had to let her go because you loved her, Scrappy.

I think about Jack in the Little House books:

“Don’t cry, Laura,” Pa said. “He has gone to the Happy Hunting Grounds.”

“Truly, Pa?” Laura managed to ask.

“Good dogs have their reward, Laura,” Pa told her.

Perhaps, in the Happy Hunting Grounds, Jack was running gaily in the wind over some high prairie, as he used to run over the beautiful wild prairies of Indian Territory. Perhaps at last he was catching a jack rabbit. He had tried so often to catch one of those long-eared, long-legged rabbits and never could.

Then I cry.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Lovely quote, Ginger. thanks. We are watching football because, as my husband put it, Layla would have wanted us to. Yeah, right. Crying some, too.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Thrive to spite them

My ex sister in law killer herself.

My nephew wasn't there, but her boyfriend was there.

If you guys could pray for her family and him and my brother or light a candle.

I was really frustrated with her actions and I didn't like her that much anymore but I never, ever wanted anything like this to happen.

Oh my god, askye! That's so hard, for the boyfriend and your brother and your nephew. Wow.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, askye, I'm so sorry. Suicide is just so awful for people to deal with.
