Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I knew that Mark guy was no good! Nothing but trouble!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Dear TCG,

When I told you what was available in the fridge for dinner tonight, I specifically did not mention the leftover bacon and home fries from breakfast because they were mine.

The status is NOT quo.

Askye, if you can, invest in a sun lamp. They can make a huge difference during those long months. Also try to remember that the days are getting a little bit longer every day!

JZ, fingers crossed the Mac comes back to life and doesn't sprout fangs.

Hi all. I have been doing nothing but sleeping. Can't shake this virus. I worked Sunday (open house), Monday, and Tuesday and had just about lost my voice again. Got home at 5 yesterday so tired I could barely stay awake driving, slept for three hours, woke up for three hours and then went back to bed. Had a scary commute this morning where I kept feeling myself nodding off and barely made it through my first period class before deciding I needed to go home early. Got a sub for my other class and made an appointment with my doctor for noon--got there a little early and fell asleep for 20 more minutes in the freaking parking lot. Had my appointment, grabbed some Mexican food, got my bloodwork done to check for mono (she thinks this is just a virus but wants to rule it out), got home and crashed for two more hours. Tired much? Sheesh. Maybe this is the Sandman Virus.

Trust my rage

I also have felt exhausted all day. I've been sleeping better these last few weeks, but somehow, being 38 weeks pregnant is draining. I spent an hour at the office today lying on the couch reading emails on my phone. Of course, I keep reminding myself that each might might be my last full night of sleep and that is a little daunting.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Day was too busy for me to even post at lunch.

askye, if you can't afford a light box, try and take a walk in the morning. Get outside and get your dose of sunshine early. It helps with setting diurnal rhythms and such.

Warning, rant ahead. Venting.

I just got the check from my ex-roommate. She's only paying me about a third of what she owes me. And instead of emailing me back to resolve the amount, she just sent me a check with a typed letter, a spreadsheet, and NO RETURN ADDRESS. I'm sure she's hoping I'll just let it drop. She's only paying half of what she owes me for water, saying that it's my responsibility to get ex-slumlord to pay. Bitch had the gall to wish me luck.

She's only paying 2/5 the pet deposit, since she had 2/5 the animals in 2/5 of the house. Fine. It's a $40 difference. But she's refusing the cleaning fee of $25 because we didn't discuss a fee. I charged it because she agreed to help clean the bathroom and kitchen, but all she did was sweep her room. I cleaned the marks off her walls, and spent hours cleaning the kitchen and bath. My old landlord, a friend, charged me $200 to clean my house when I moved out. So I figure she owes me at least $100.

Gah. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Gonna to let my emotions simmer down a bit, definitely not firing off an email right now.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Jonathan kitty is home and doing well - so far he has tried to wrestle Nathaniel, but Nathaniel said no

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yay kitten!

Boo stupid ex-roommate.

askye, echoing smonster, getting up at sunrise and getting some sun in my face helped my mood immensely, FWIW.

Thrive to spite them

Glad Jonathan Kitty is doing well.

Smonster that sucks, she owes you and I'm glad you are not living with her anymore.

I know I need to get out and walk, I keep putting it off because I get cold or whatever. But I know I need to get a little sun. Of course it's supposed to snow tomorrow and be windy and then (if the forecast holds) it's going to get colder and colder and on Sunday the forecast has the high being 4.

When I first moved up here, Will wasn't working so much so we going for drives and stuff. But we havent' done that for awhile because it gets dark early (although not as early) and he's been tired from working a lot.

I have therapy tomorrow and if the weather isn't too bad I'm going to go to the library and poke around. And try to walk.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Last week I couldn't sleep enough. This week I can't sleep at all.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I'm going to bitch a bit. Just to vent. Last week received the pdf galleys to make minor corrections to and index. Only it turns out they had screwed the location of some tables which affected the pagination. So I sent it back with normal Galley corrections, plus insisting that they fix the tables. (Location was important because the tables were part of a narrative. Probably a mistake; I gather it is normal for layout to be free to move tables about, not the way stuff was designed in this instance. But I noted that I was doing this when I first submitted, and there were no complaints. And when stuff moved past copy editing to preparing the galleys, I remind layout that I needed the tables exactly where I said) OK, so they bitched, but agreed to fix it. So - got back the manuscript, and they did indeed move every table I asked them to back to where originally specified. However they also moved a table that I did not ask them to move from a location where it is fine to a location where it made absolutely no sense. So I've sent it back to them. Hopefully they will make the correction. Moving 4 tables took them more than a week. This move of one table will affect two to three pages, with no overflow affects on subsequent pages. So it damn well should not take more than a day to fix. In indesign I could make the change in 20 minutes, and I'm lousy at indesign. They probably are using a more complicated program, but still if they can't get me that correction by tomorrow, they are doing something wrong.
