Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Laura, we presumed today was a school day until Matilda assured us that no, she didn't go back to school until Tuesday. Matilda was correct.

Our wings are not tired.

If Bobby knew differently he didn't speak up, which understandable. Apparently Broward decided to give them the whole week for Thanksgiving, and make up a day this week. Oh well, I haven't even received email notification from any class of his absence and normally I get them instantly at the start of each period when he is out, so they must have minimal attendance.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Dana, I'm sorry for your loss. Wishing peace and comfort for all who love your grandmother.

Oreos have a soothing effect. Especially if you do the twist and dunk, if that's your Oreo thing.

I have found that in trying times, putting Oreos in a bowl, pouring milk over them, and eating them with a spoon to be efficacious.

Parent fail. Apparently school is in session today in Broward County.... The principal told him that half the staff and students didn't show up.

If half the STAFF didn't show up, I'm thinking it's not so much "parent fail" as "Communication Fail".

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, that seems like a big communication fail on the part of the school district.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm surprised I didn't get an email or robo call from the principal because I get bunches of them regularly on far less important issues. Then again, I could have checked the calendar which shows today as a school day. I just hate wasting an absence day in case we need it later. Oh well.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ive never seen a holiday where so many people don't know if it is one or not.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

A lot of school districts that would normally treat this as a holiday are not because they need to make up snow days from the Halloween storm.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

despite the reasonableness of Vortex's argument, I'm in the camp of:

Ive never seen a holiday where so many people don't know if it is one or not

Isn't today a federal holiday to boot?

Our wings are not tired.

I'm even more embarrassed to say that 2 of my employees showed up this morning at the office for work. After emailing me about the apparent holiday they just did a few things they had in progress and then went home. I was out sick all last week so we didn't discuss it specifically, but we were closed the Monday after Christmas. So boss fail too.
