An old friend, who is just now retiring as a midwife, made a donation in all our names to a healthy birthing charity. I _love_ it. Gave me a nice warm feeling with no need to regift or dust.
On another note, I spoke out on Sparky's DH's project, announced in Press. Bless him for carrying on the good fight.
I just read that book! It's pretty good.
Jilli dresses MUCH better, though.
Jilli, I saw a book title that made me think of you - "The Hedgewitch Queen" by Lilith Saintcrow. Don't know quite what it's about, but I liked the title.
Oooh, that is a great title.
Jilli dresses MUCH better, though.
Aww, thank you!
So, b&w striped, ruffled skirt w/ petticoats, black tights, black granny boots with pink ribbons, white blouse, black double-breasted blazer, top hat w/ pink & black feathers, dark wine lipstick: it's too much to hope that people won't assume I'm a Christmas caroler, isn't it?
Erin, yes you can read and watch electronically except when they are prepping for takeoff / getting up to the first bit and landing. If you really need the distraction, it's less than one magazines worth of time for both. I usually get a round trip out of each magazine unless I get too interested and read that for the first flight instead.
Last time I flew home (1 hr 52 min flying time), I watched 1:46 minutes of Ocean's Eleven because I needed the soothing while I also read. And that was with my shutting down when they first mentioned we were getting close, not the last moment. Really, I could have grabbed maybe five more minutes but I had a migraine and I just wanted to have the day be over.
I am rambling today.

It's near Christmas and you are wearing a top hat. Yes.

... dammit. You're right. But I'm not giving up my top hat. For one thing, I'm short, and it's the only way people can find me when I'm out shopping.
Thanks, Cass. I'll take one book.
Sudden riddle inspiration yesterday.
Q: What kind of vehicle does an itinerant preacher drive?
A:
A conversion van.
Andi and I met Famous Dave (of FD restaurant fame) today. We dropped by the flagship store with my mom for lunch, and he was there signing cookbooks for charity. Got one signed and he wrote that Andi was a Bar-b-cutie.
Much peace and healing~ma for Nilly and family.
Figuring out what the heck is going on, and for extra grace note, finding an easy fix ~ma for B-boy.
