I'm just waiting to see if I pass out. Long story.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

ISTG, people, next year I'm doing the cards and all the Christmas stuff in AUGUST. I can't deal.

I finished shopping early this year and I have to say it is annoying me. I can't stop looking and adding little things here and there for the kids (they don't need MORE). I'm also going a bit nuts waiting for them to open their presents. I'm tired of keeping the secrets. Heck, I even bought K-Bug's birthday present already and that is over 3 months away. Gahhhhhhhhh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Socks, gift cards, and a goat from Heifer.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Socks, gift cards, and a goat from Heifer.

The trifecta of perfect gifts for the hard-to-buy for.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Also, when someone asks you what you want for Christmas/birthday/whatever, (and someone is me and you is my sister), and you say, oh, I don't want anything! or oh, I don't care, anything is fine... that's not actually helpful, okay?

Next year my bro and SiL get a goat from Heifer. Because they do the "I don't know...anything I want I just go ahead and buy...just get me whatever" thing. And so then I do get them whatever, and then feel like my love/worth as a sister is measured in the fact that I bought my bro a water bottle with Cthulhu on it instead of, I don't know, an iPad.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The first year I heard about Heifer I was discussing presents for our mother with my sister. I proudly announced, "I got her half a sheep" ... and, after a long silence during which I KNEW my sister was thinking, "do we have room in the freezer?" "we don't like mutton, or even lamb, that much" and, generally, "WTF?", I explained that it was Heifer and how it worked. She was relieved to find out it wasn't going to be something she'd have to find room for.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Socks, gift cards, and a goat from Heifer.

The trifecta of perfect gifts for the hard-to-buy for.

And the perfect trifecta of gifts for me! Seriously, I would be totally thrilled to get some cool socks, a little gift card for books (or whatever), and a charitable contribution in my name. Sounds just right.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hah. Now I'm remembering my family drama from a couple of years ago when my brother was being a complete jackass and I ended up sponsoring a polar bear in his name so that I could vent my spleen without lasting familial damage.

ETA: looking back, that was two years ago today. brenda m "Natter 64: Yes, we still need you" Dec 20, 2009 6:40:54 pm PST . And I recall that was the year he made my sister cry on the phone and then hung up on her on actual X-mas day, so my pettiness was totally vindicated!

Yeah, I'd think that was a pretty nifty set of presents.

Dad and I are going holiday shopping today. I'm both looking forward to it (because hanging out with Dad is always good), and dreading it (because we used to do this to find presents for my Mom).
