I'm glad Daniel's improving a bit. Sorry he's stuck in a hospital for another two weeks, but with any luck they'll be able to knock out the infection for good.

I saw your post. My guess would be months, not weeks (but I could be wrong about that). We have a family friend who had a really bad infection after a knee operation and it was months.

Note: I think the meds he took did not have drastic side effects, but it was necessary to tackle that infection.
I am really relieved to hear that he is getting better.

Oy, Daniel's body is all-in fighting off infections. My high school teacher/mentor developed Pseudo-obstruction (related to Crone's Disease) and had to be hospitalized a couple times with rampant infections related to his tubes. You don't realize how virulent they can be until you get the play by play describing how they had to kill off a bacterial infection and a fungal infection at the same time.
In happier news, Burrell you were on my mind all day today. (1) Because there were headlines on SF Gate today about (Pat) Burrell's last game with the Giants, and (2) walking to school this morning Matilda introduced me to "the new girl" who is your namesake.
