Just went to pick up some Chinese food for dinner, and ended up in the background of a newscast. Ugh. What is there to broadcast here now? Here's where the preliminary hearing is going to be next week? Nothing's happening here, other than reporters.
Also, I keep getting confused when I enter or leave the house and try to either get my keys from or put my keys on the table and then remember that the table is in my bedroom now. Really need to get this fixed before it drives me insane. (I get kind of weird about furniture type stuff. I put things where I want them, and I put them there for a reason, and them not being there makes me antsy.)

I had the interview...not sure how they felt about me. Not sure how I felt about them. So hard to make a big decision like that based on a few hours of info! Eek. I think the guy I liked best was apparently looked down on by the others (though he's the head of his department, it's not the one I'd be in). He was pretty chill. :)
The people running the Christmas stuff here really ought to move Santa's house to somewhere other than right in front of the courthouse. All the news reports about Sandusky's trial have Santa's house in the background, and it's just ridiculous.
meara, my endo told me that whether or not you are on birth control changes which T3 test to order (free vs total), so you could maybe use that as an in for asking about all the flavors of thyroid testing.
Do you all think it is okay for a kid to miss a week of school for a run of the mill vacation?
(Of course, there is more to that story. Joe wants to take the kids to Florida during their first week back after Christmas vacation. I think absent some special circumstance, vacations should happen during school vacation. I don't mind being wrong but in the world I grew up in, you don't just blow off school unless there is some sort of really special purpose to the trip.)
eta: oh, and of course, he asked the teacher of the kid in question who thinks "family time is important", but I disagree with her.
I would never let Emmett take an extra week vacation in the school year. He gets behind in Math and never recovers. That's happened twice.
Stephanie, I'm not a parent, but it sounds like a bad precedent to set with both the kids and with Joe.
I avoid missing any more time than necessary. We are only allowed to miss so many days of school and if we use them early there isn't any flexibility later. I have taken them out for family events, but then I worry about having days later.
