Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Ryan has learned the Happy Birthday song. He spent a substantial portion of today (including about half an hour in his cot after waking up from his nap) singing happy birthday variously to:
- himself;
- Mummy;
- Daddy;
- Waigong and Waipo;
- his carers at childcare;
- big slides; and
- cake.
One can only imagine his excitement once he discovers the celebrations that will accompany an actual birthday.
And yet there's no video ....
quester, car troubles suck. I'm glad that at least this time it was only tires. (Yeah, I know they are spendy enough, especially on top of everything else you have had to throw down your money for.)
My mom is in a hospital. During Friday she lost her hearing in one ear. When she went to the doctor today, he sent her straight to the ER to check up. And because my country doesn't have a functional health system, she's staying overnight until a specialist will be able to check her ear.
We don't know anything yet, but the clinic doctor suspected nerve damage.
I might come home tomorrow, especially if she will have to stay for more than one night.
I really, really don't like that aspect of being an adult.
Oh, Shir. I hope everything goes all right with your mom.
Ryan is a cute cutiehead who is also cute.
Interwebs still on at home. WOO! Have purring cat in lap and strong coffee.
Note to others: Sucker Punch (the Synder version) is Very, Very Bad. Don't waste your time.
sending the ma~~~ towards your mother, shir
~ma for your mother, Shir.
I'm having a fairly productive weekend. My front room, which has been filled with junk for a year and a half, is almost clear. I really want to put a loveseat and coffee table in there, but I'm trying to save money, and new furniture is pretty far down on my list of how much I need various things. I could probably get a coffee table pretty cheap at a thrift store, but I don't want to buy a loveseat there.
They're keeping her for about a week for further testing and treatment. To be more precise, they don't know how long it'll take to cure it (if at all), but they said to get ready for a week. They think it's pressure on an inner nerve. It's nothing serious, I guess. She can lose her hearing in one ear, and thank God it's nothing more. She might also be able to go home from time to time. I'll be coming back home tomorrow night, and spend Tuesday with her as much as possible.
It's the first time something like that is happening to either of my parents. I'm more worried than I should be, and this is tiring.
Thank you for your ~mas.
Lots of ~ma, Shir. Here's hoping it's nothing serious and she better and home soon.
Went to brunch, back at old place. Kitchen floor mopped, now going to scrub the tub. Then the last stuff will be ready to load, I think, and I'll just need to clean the fridge and sweep the front room. Is that a light, yon?
I'm more worried than I should be
I'm going to with the opinion that once you get past mild indigestion or a paper cut (and even then...) there's not much to the idea of "should" when it comes to worrying about loved ones. As long as you don't get in the way of their recovery.
Which reminds me...I haven't spoken to my mother in a couple days! Time to call home. Can't wait to find out how long it takes her to get tired of this...
