Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm not opposed to non-pharmaceutical treatments (hello, brewing my own kombucha for a year now, like the crazy hippie I am), but thrush/yeastiness *does* really suck, like you said. Can you go to a Minute Clinic (or whatever similar doc-in-a-box is in your neck of the woods) and get a prescription for Diflucan? It is 100% awesome. It's not just for ladyparts yeast infections -- yeast is yeast is yeast, and whatever nice warm body part it decides to take up residence in, it SUCKS.

But also -- plain yogurt is good for thrush.

I'm calling my doctor today so I'll request this!

DO EEET. Don't take no for an answer.

But yogurt is nice, too. (Seriously, though: only plain yogurt, because the Candida will make a meal out of the sugar in fruit yogurt. Learn from my mistakes.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Our farmer's market opened last weekend with NO fresh produce. I still got some fresh Asiago bread, lemon chive angel hair pasta, and kettle corn (my annual indulgence). Oh, and some local honey.

There is one woman with a green house that is usually there, so there should be some early produce, as well as bread, goat cheese, and possibly some meats.

Yeah, I just did plain Greek yogurt.

Got an appt for 2pm. Hoping I'll be gobbling Diflucan by 3:30.

Speaking of candida....

The latest WTF??? web ad I keep seeing (and I see so many) is an ad that's supposedly about how you might have a candida infection RIGHT NOW! And here's "one weird trick" to find out, or fight it, or whatever (seriously, how did the phrase "x weird tricks" become the current snake-oil sales phrase of the web?).

What makes the ad so incredibly WTF??? is that is has a picture, not of a candida infection, or of something in a petri dish.

It's a picture of a baby friggin' xenomorph just after it has burst out of John Hurt's chest in the first Alien movie.

Maybe not what you wanted to hear about right now, David, but maybe it will give you a laugh anyway.

It's as onerous as an alien erupting out of somewhere!
