Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Teppy, that sucks. Hopefully the ultrasound will reveal something easily fixable.

This.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Oh, she also said it could "just" be bladder spasms. But what caused them? Don't know. How do I get them to stop? She said I can take Azo for up to 2 weeks and see if that helps (she based that recommendation on the fact that, even though I didn't have a UTI, the Azo definitely helped with the discomfort and irritation).

Can we make just one more change? Can we add an author to the byline after review? Can we change this figure to color? Oh, we forgot to acknowledge financial support, we MUST include that! Can we make just one more change? We know the paper has been published online but can we make just one more change before print? Thanks so much for your patience! Can we make JUST ONE MORE CHANGE?

This is my job. Boy howdy, is this my fucking job.

(Shouldn't the April issue be done, here it is being the end of April? WHY YES.)

You have no idea how much this is my job.

Where is the vodka.

Oh yes, this is so very much my job.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Teppy, I hope they figure that out *really* quickly.

The Asperger's diagnosis is going away in the US -- they're using autism spectrum disorder instead.

Yeah, not here. I raised that with my psychiatrist. It's going to stay here, where we apparently use WHO definitions, not DSM-V ones. There's general confusion from psychiatrists in Europe about why it would need replacing.

But yes, I'm aware that for the rest of my life, I'll have to 'translate' the diagnosis for USians!

And why do I feel as though many of us need scare-ducks? What would that even look like? And can I found a shop on Etsy to sell them?

I WANT ONE. Thankyouplease.

Edited for clarity.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hi Seska! I hope that now that you have a diagnosis, you can get whatever resources you need to deal with it effectively.

Wishing you spoons, sj. Wishing you an easy lady parts fix, Teppy.

I also hate everything and everyone today. Despite being exhausted from my batshit busy weekend, I couldn't sleep last night. Still PMSing, so my neck is massively out of whack and the brain weasels are whispering that the reason D wants to come over tonight is to break up with me. Not because he didn't get to see me this weekend, oh no.

Whole lot of mentally repeating "my thoughts are waves, and I am the ocean" and the like.

Also me!

I think we all need to get into sync and have kickass great days, damn it.

I'm now on the long long LONG waiting list for support, thanks to the NHS. But also thanks for the NHS, when I eventually get to the top of the list, it will be free. So I'm not complaining!

Also me!

I couldn't sleep last night either. Maybe it is a conspiracy.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Steph. I've had an ovarian cyst that needed to be removed, so been there if you need anything.

There is someone here at my meeting that seems so familiar. She's from SF and her name is Christine. I'm wondering if she knows JZ--she does Dickens Fair and Renn Faire stuff. (My first thought was Jilli--she is wearing fluevogs and gothy, but though she totally said she is a fan, she does not personally know her). We are both stumped.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In case you visit DC, there is a Fluevog store in Georgetown. Just up from the Aveda store, the Mephisto store, and not too far from Sephora and MAC cosmetics.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

If she has straightish dark blonde/light brown hair and her last name begins with a D, then I may well know her and we may be... slightly less than buddies, let us say.

If not... there are probably tons and tons of Christines all over both Fair(e)s, and we're probably just a degree or so of separation from each other and might kind of vaguely recognize each other's faces without actually knowing each other. And maybe she seems familiar to you because you came to the Ren Faire that one time and saw her someplace in the crowd?

eta: I don't know about other Fluevog stores, but the one in SF is having a contest right now where all you have to do is go in and try on a pair and you're entered in a contest to win free shoes for a decade. Lee may need to plan a trip up to SF for this.
