'Why We Fight'

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's kinda slander. We are just honestly that lazy.

I actually just feel good about the fact that I made it to the store. Plus, I made myself a tomato mozzarella basil salad for dinner, and it was so yummy.

Want.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Grrrr. Strongly suspect I have a bladder infection (actually, hoping it's not a kidney infection -- I have low back pain in the general kidney area, but the confusing factor is that I *often* have low back soreness because I have a wonky back).

Waiting to call my doctor when they open, but I'll go to urgent care if they can't get me in. Don't want more antibiotics. (I've taken so many for my dental work, I can't believe that any bacteria can live within a 10-foot radius of me.)

Meh. Do not want.

Librarian Warlord

le n, I go to one of the meal-assembly places fairly regularly because I don't have/don't want time to cook. It gives me things I can get to the table in 30 minutes or less, and I can control ingredients I don't want. Between the promo codes, specials and answering their surveys, I haven't paid full price in a couple of years.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Balsamic vinegar is a friend to a low-sodium cook. (A small amount of) Cocoa powder enriches the flavor of tomato dishes. It is worth the time it takes to read the label of EVERY canned tomato product on the shelves. Brands vary widely across types and types vary widely across brands. Some of them can be as low as 15mg of sodium per serving without bothering to advertize themselves. Dei Fratelli tomato puree is one [link] There are dozens of flavored diced tomato products which do nicely for a quick pasta dish with less than 300mg per serving, which is half the sodium of "healthy choice/reduced sodium" spagetti sauces and taste much, much better.

Incidentally, I have a recipe for homemade cream of tomato soup which is only slightly more complicated than dealing with gradually stirring milk into a condensed soup, and I find it less trying to my patience. (ETA: Anybody who wants it, let me know)

Between that and homemade chowders, I have darn near sworn off canned soups. (Exception made for Progresso Chicken Soups when I'm sick.)

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Anybody who wants it, let me know

Me! Me! Cream of tomato soup has been one of my go-to comfort foods forever and ever, but the canned condensed stuff tastes more and more gross lately. If you've got a good recipe for homemade actually tasty tomato soup that's easy enough for my lazy self, I will adore you with little sparkly hearts.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

wow ... I kept hearing this annoying beeping noise and went to the window to see what was causing it. Not sure what the noise is, but someone's set up a (full size?) statue of a whale outside.

Geez, Toddson. "Full size? whale statue" was really not where I expected that sentence to end up. (eta: Update if you find out what's the what with the whale, please!)

I imagine it has something to do with Earth Day (check out Google today).
