I agree that contacting the school would be appropriate.
I'm sorry Teppy, what an awful thing for your family to deal with.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I agree that contacting the school would be appropriate.
I'm sorry Teppy, what an awful thing for your family to deal with.
sj, you could write or fax anonymously.
All sympathies, Teppy and family. It's a terrible, terrible thing to happen, regardless of the reason.
I think you should write or call, sj but with the understanding that nothing is likely to actually change.
It was a really upsetting situation for you and it could have proven really tragic for a few people but kids that age aren't going to care, or change, en masse. But if you can get through to even one person, that matters.
Teppy, what a sad situation. Just a really awful situation.
I got a pen-pal letter today. So that makes Letter Writer's Alliance 1 Projecting My Own Self-doubt/Loathing on others 0. She has her own impediments...a teaching job and some small children. It is just too easy to shift into Rejected headspace these days.
TCG's second interview is tomorrow, if there is any interview~ma around.
~~interview~ma~~
lots of interview ma~~~
Ugh. How awful, Steph. I hope your family gets some resolution. It's minor solace in the face of a terrible crime but it might help with the grieving process.
Much interview ma to TCG. Here is hoping it is actually enjoyable and reaps a great result.
My precinct captain training went really well today.
Though, it made me a bit sad for the system because a lot of people didn't bother to show up and most who did were not particularly sharp.
I felt like I was fumbling all over the place, as there are roughly 498 extremely important-don't forget them or you are crushing the democratic hopes of everyone who votes details. And still, I finished every exercise in roughly half the time as anyone else in the room.
An official came in to give us a pep talk and, during the course of his remarks, offered a very bad case study that I know was about the woman I replaced. In private, I asked if he thought there was a chance she might come to the precinct to wreak havoc...she's wildly verbally abusive. He said there was no chance, as she has been moved to a different precinct!!! Not fired, as I had been led to believe.
Ah well, as long as she isn't here, I guess I can't waste any energy on her.
In the end, I got a lovely compliment from the trainer and the tech assistant liked me so much, he ran off to find one of the _very last, most coveted ever_ Board of Elections coffee mugs to give me. Apparently they don't make them anymore but he thought I should have one of the last four in existence.
I couldn't bear to tell him that I don't use printed mugs. So, now I need to find a new home for it...but I'll never forget his delight in giving it to me. So kind.
