erin, you might want to call your vet about the kitty with the visible spinal column. Most vets have equipment to read any microchip that the kitty might have, which would allow reunion if the kitty is a stray. If the kitty's human can't be found, at least some vets have contacts with local no-kill shelters where kitty might find a place to stay.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yes, erin, What Fred Said. Also, yay postponed date!
Also, smonster, I forgot to say how sorry I am for your roommate and her puppy. It's so hard.
Strix, there is entirely too much on your plate, and you are dealing admirably well. May it all come right, and soon. And yes, we must see pics of your DH in his jacket!
Long day. Volunteering went well though. Even if it was more work than I've done in a long time. As I was pulling into my driveway H called to ask if I was still babysitting tonight, which I totally forgot about. So it was in the door quick to kiss TCG and break him the news that I wouldn't be cooking dinner tonight. And now to grab a latte and babysit.
Where is everyone? These cartoons are putting me to sleep.
So...I pretty much am going to have an organ sucked out soon.
Some organs just are begging to be sucked out. Bad seeds. I hope it's as easy as the surgery can be and a quick recovery. You do not need more stress on top of everything else right now, Strix. Strength is great, but some calm times are even better.
Ugh, erin. I do hope the cat is getting care. That sounds very traumatic. And as much as I adore Nico, I am thankful every day that he is not my cat. I drop pills, I ignore dental floss, I have plants... Nico would force me to reevaluate my whole home, sweet boy that he is.
Strix, organ removal ~ma! And coping ~ma, because, geez.
erin, the poor kitty! Cats are often very stoic about pain and don't let on how much pain they're in. I have no advice to offer more than what's already been said. But, if the wound looked really fresh, he may have people who just have not found out about it yet. If it wasn't fresh, he needs rescue, even if he has people. Good luck to you, and him!
Strix, I hope the removal goes well. My mom, grandma, and sister all had theirs removed and they all felt tremendously better afterward.
G is in bed, hopefully asleep.
Between organ removals and transplants - I can only imagine the doc that got to open up my mom (we donated her body to science). She was missing her gall bladder, a bunch of intestine, had the remaining intestine tacked to unusual places to keep it from herniating, and then she had 4 kidneys. And that is just what I can remember off the top of my head. I'm not trying to be morbid - it makes me smile to think of the reaction of whoever checked out her insides.
IIRC, I am donated to science!
...I think maybe Science didn't get that "post-mortem" memo...
I should get on that.
That poor kitty. If kitty was post-surgery, wouldn't kitty be inside? But maybe s/he's terminal and happier outside, on pain meds? I don't even know.
