I colored eggs today too! We made "tie-dyed" eggs. They turned out super cute.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
How do you tie-dye? I did multicolor but nothing near so elaborate. I would like to tie-dye next year. People need to keep having kids so as to continue having a pool of small humans for me to dye Easter eggs with in the future. And Monday? Confetti egg salad.
Cass, I will totally dye eggs with you sans small humans.
I win!
I really like coloring eggs. And, apparently, it's a bonus that I will then take the eggs to make egg salad sandwiches. That look like confetti if I have my way.
It's food you are encouraged to play with, I don't see the downside. Apart from looking like I mirder clowns in my spare time. But fingers will get over being stained.

We did that at one of the houses I work at, last week. I dunno how you did it, but we had spent a happy Saturday scouring second hand stores for silk ties, then took apart the ties, wrapped the eggs in the silk, then wrapped the wool lining around that, rubber bands around that, into a pot of boiling water with 2 tbs of vinegar, and boiled for ten minutes. They came out very nifty looking. [link]
Whoo, the Vampire Ball is over for another year. It was a lovely time, and there were no drama storms.
Glad you had fun! I am suffering from an epic bout of insomnia. Can't say I've missed it.
Yay for lack of bad drama.
I saw a thing with coloring eggs in shaving cream with swirled color that looked interesting. This is the first year I didn't color eggs, mostly because I am not eating them. I am having a good sized crowd today so there are a couple dozen mini baskets on the table. Lots of good food. It is warm so swimming will happen and billiards competitions inside.
The wind was blowing in the right direction for me to hear the music and singing from the sunrise services on the beach. Reminder to self to check that out. The only part of religious ceremony that I enjoy is the music. Music plus beach is good.
Happy Easter to those that celebrate!
I'm sitting with a cat on my lap, listening to the rain outside. If only I could teleport a second cup of coffee into my hand it would be perfect.
No coloring eggs here, but I did bake the traditional family lamb cake for dinner today. (When I was a kid, Mom always baked a lamb cake for Easter in a mold like this one: [link] Problem was, she always made a pound cake, and the damn thing never baked all the way through. So she continued to make it every year, and the family mocked it and didn't eat it. It was a thing. She eventually stopped making it, though. After I got out of college, I asked her for the lamb mold, with the idea that a white cake would be fluffier and would bake through. So I made a white cake for Easter one year, and took it to my Aunt's, and everyone mocked it, because that's the Pavlovian response to the lamb cake. But I insisted that THIS cake was different, because it literally was different cake. Finally my cousin cut the head off the lamb and took a bite, and said "Holy shit, this is GOOD!" So the lamb cake was resurrected and is requested every year. It works fine with Betty Crocker's gluten-free cake mix, too.)
(I don't know why my parentheticals have to be so freaking long.)
