Played with Kaylee. Sun came out, and I walked on my feet and heard with my ears. I ate the bits, the bits stayed down, and I work. I function like I'm a girl. I hate it because I know it'll go away. The sun goes dark and chaos has come again. Bits. Fluids. What am I?!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

I'll even make fish sexy-face, Laura. I know some of these people are just pissed about their own tough times, but they should do like Keith Olbermann said and "Punch *up*"(Although, generally, it's a bad idea to do it right in front of your boss...maybe we can call that the Griffin Corollary.)

Thrive to spite them

Saw the endochronologist today. Basically everything shows I could be headed to hypothyrodism but maybe not. So the doctor is putting me on snthyroid for a trial and see if I can tell a difference.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Geez, I'm feeling almost bullied on facebook to change my profile pic to red and pink. (Not by anyone here, thank you Pix :) Seriously, does anyone think that me not jumping on a bandwagon that wasn't even explained until after 1/2 my FL changed their profile pics actually means that I somehow don't support gay rights and marriage equality? Granted, most of the pressure is coming from people that i'm not really close to so maybe they legitimately don't know...but seriously. It's a profile pic. I kinda thinks all the petitions I've signed over the years and all the letters I've written to legislators are way more useful than a symbolic gesture on a social media site. *sigh* On the bright side, I'm almost happy to be bullied for a legitimately good cause, rather than some of the rubbish that is out there.

Always Anti-fascist!

Actually, the conversation that started out so frustrating ended up friendly and rewarding. I think some people do lash out because they feel like their struggle isn't being acknowledged...that doesn't mean that I changed anyone's mind, or that I won't be saying facebook people are dicks ever again, but maybe it's a good lesson to keep in mind.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Geez, I'm feeling almost bullied on facebook to change my profile pic to red and pink.

I refer you to your tagline.

Our wings are not tired.

Geez erin, whatcha sayin, ya hatin on teh gays?

First thing this morning I saw my young cousin in Nebraska had changed her profile pic and explained why. I had not heard anything about it previously, but decided to do so as well. A bunch of my gay and straight friends and relatives have changed their profile pics, a bunch of them have posted something supportive, a bunch haven't. I pretty much know where they all stand and don't need anyone to provide graphic proof.

My sister asked if it was ok to wear orange because she is quite supportive of marriage equality, but really hates red.

I've been trying to avoid any political positions on FB, but well, I am rather fond of red anyway.

Thrive to spite them

One of my second cousins (whose father is a Southern Baptist preacher) made the comment - Sodom and Gommorrah approved gay relationships and look what happened to them!

And of course I had to respond. I'm still waiting to hear why America is going to be destroyed but other countries haven't been.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cass, do you have your FB set so that you have to approve all tags before they appear on your timeline? I do, and I've untagged more than a few photos. It won't stop her from posting them to her wall, but at least people not on her friendslist wouldn't see them unless you want them to.

No. I used to but she's the only person who randomly puts pictures of me up.

And, really, it wasn't that she was sharing her own grief on Facebook. That's totally up to her. It was her announcing Dad's passing with a tagged picture of me before I had told anyone who wasn't close family.

But it wasn't malicious and since it's unlikely the situation will come up again, I'm just letting it go.

Something bit my neck last night and I have a huge welt. Once I took my necklace off and put on some of my super steroid ointment, it's really not been bothering me. But it looks awful.

Compassionately intolerant

I don't know if anyone remembers the difficulties inherent in my work as a ballot clerk during the presidential election, but...I decided against complaining because I figured the system has supported that horrible precinct captain for a long time, which means something.

So, they called me to volunteer for the next election and I said I would pass due to difficulties Captain Name. The caller was all, "We KNOW. Hey, let me get a supervisor to document your complaints because we can't have this."

After being on hold for a long time, the same caller returned to offer moving me to another precinct.

Riiiigggghhhhttt. The Board of Elections either doesn't care or actually condones the abusive captain.

I'm out.

And reinforced in my cynicism...which is too bad.
