Silver is a good choice. And shoe style is up to you. I wore silver strappy sandals in October. For formal events, I've worn both strappy and open-toed shoes through the winter.

Inmememenews... Blergh. I know I'm getting better because the ick is moving through my body in the usual way. The fever is down another degree and NOW we are in the hack-coughing phase. In addition, alarming things are coming out of my nose. Fragmented sleep. Fatigue like whoa.
