Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

You could saddle that thing up and save money on gas.

As long as it didn't encounter any other dogs on the way.

There's also a puggle listed, so I think I'm going to go in on Tuesday to see if I can meet her. I was going to go in today, but fell asleep on the couch and woke up, very confused, about four hours later. The shelter is only open to the public for two hours tomorrow, and I've got to be administering a midterm during those two hours, so I can't go then. (They don't have enough volunteers to be open to the public more often. They're open four hours on Saturdays and Sundays, then two hours Mondays and Tuesdays.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Trudy, poor niece. I'm glad she got to stay and have fun! Good for you with the quick thinking. I was carsick all the time at that age.

I am happily full of chicken enchiladas with mole, guacamole, and a margarita.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm glad to hear you outgrew it, sj!

I felt like some neighbor of Honey Boo Boo.

Trudy, I'm glad you guys went and had fun. I love those moments as a parents: having fun despite bad/crazy/gross stuff happening.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Trudy,

I somewhat outgrew it. I am thinking though that as an adult, I now have strategies to deal with carsickness so it isn't much of an issue:

a) I eat some (not a lot) before getting in a car

b) I always drive (as a passenger I would be near throwing up all the time I think)

c) and if I cannot drive, I use wristbands which help

Our wings are not tired.

I was carsick all the time at that age.

I was too, but I think perhaps discovering I could not read in the car helped. I still can't read in the car without feeling woozy.

I can't read in cars or any other moving vehicles, which really makes plane rides annoying.

Trust my rage

As a kid I read all the time but now it makes me sick. Even using my phone makes me sick but other than that, I'm usually fine.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have no problem in planes as long as there is not heavy turbulence.
