Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I totally agree with everyone else. Some dogs deal well with being alone. Some don't.
The foster should have said something about that at the outset, though.
Cagney doesn't like to be left...and sings the song of dismal lament when I leave, but honestly, when I come back, he's in no hurry to come out. He's pretty cozy in there.
You know, the standard for maintaining your parental rights is something along the lines of feeding and clothing your kid and making sure they are supervised and have a place to sleep. I'm not sure I see why the standard for adopting a dog should be higher.
I'm not really sure why both standards aren't higher. I've seen what maintains parental rights and it is, sometimes, awful.
Though the supervised part is key. A pet left alone for long spans isn't supervised. Some pets handle this really well and some don't.
I'm really sorry you didn't find the right dog, Hil. I hope you find a better match soon.
Scrappy,
dang! I thought for SURE you knew my friends and that was going to make me laugh.
Hil,
sorry about that. I agree with others, the right dog will indeed come along.
I feel like I want to do something other than just sit home along tonight. I don't know what I want to do, though. Going to a restaurant alone doesn't sound too much better than sitting home alone.
I'm completely pissed at Rite Aid. The last few months have been nothing but error after error. I have been trying different meds, we tried the Abilify. I knew I needed to get pre authorization for it - took it in, told the tech that, and then didn't hear back, went to check on it and was told I never gave it to them. After some checking they said it was put in, then deleted, then thrown out instead of being put out in for authorization. So they finally got that cleared up.
But I couldn't handle the side effects so then came Saphris. which also needed a pre authorization, I go to check on it and am told they haven't heard from my doctor's office. They are just waiting on the doctor's office. So I check at the doctor's office and they do some calling and discover they did get the right authorization, but Rite Aid is out and has to get it ordered. So instead of just saying, "We don't have it in" they lied. That pissed me off.
But I figure whatever, Rite Aid is basically across the street and easy to get to.
A few weeks ago I called to see if I had any refills on file, Amiben (which I don't take anymore) and, I'm told, Seroquel. So when I go back for a therapy appointment I tell them I need a refill of Lithium and Klonopin. I had to wait for the Klonopin. Yesterday I go in and tell them I need to refill the Klonopin and Seroquel, I'll pick it up today.
Today I go in - They have the prescription ready in the little area where they hang the bags of stuff that's ready to go out. I'm told I had no refill on file for Seroquel. I explain I'd checked and it said I had a refill, nope they say - no refill. We faxed in a request to the doctor's office. When I ask, they aren't sure, so while two people are conferring I look at the Klonopin, it looks suspciously light.
I look at the label, "Take 1/2 tablet at bedtime." This is wrong I told the person in charge. "Well maybe that's all your insurance would authorize" she tells me. I told her, "no my prescription is for 1 1/2 tablets at bedtime." So she checks, sure enough I'm right. "I didn't get a chance to check this prescription." It's in the area to be picked up why is it ready if it wasn't checked? She doesn't know. But she can fix it, it won't be ready until tomorrow.
Which is the last freaking straw. I'm picking up my prescription tomorrow and then going over to Kenney's and get set up there and have things switched over.
I don't think of it as going to a restaurant alone, I think of it as taking myself on a date.
Askye, for what it worth, when I had a similar problem with CVS, I called and complained at HQ, and it got good results, and an apology.
How about a movie, Hil?
There's not really anything playing around here that I want to see.
