Man, omnis, that is so tough. I don't trust him, either. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three convictions for sex crimes is OH HELL NO.
Continued dog~ma (heh), Hil!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Crossing fingers for the dog rescue, Hil! If you get the pooch, I suggest enrollment in a beginning obedience class as soon as possible--it's as much about learning how to be a dog owner as it is for the dog, and I find that training is a great way to bond with my dogs.
My oh my, I do not envy the folks at the various soirees around town. Since the warmish afternoon of 47 degrees, we are now at "32 but feels like 19" out. And the wind is HIGH.
Later today, a high of 24...feels like godforsaken.
Brrr.
I'm going to go cuddle my heating pad.
Sadly, I don't know how much you can do to convince your mom given his stories to her. It's such a shitty position to be in, hon. I'm really sorry.
That is the crux of it now. I do give him credit for revealing his status. But yeah, it's easy to drop just enough truth to cover the lies.
Billytea, I'm not sure where to start looking for the prosecutor to try and get details. Good idea, just not sure where to start. Keep in mind, population for the entire country of Australia is roughly 23 million. Population just for the state of California is roughly 37 million. It'd be like saying, "somewhere in Perth area this dude did a crime, can you find the prosecutor?"
Hec's suggestion of a private investigator is a good one, but that can run you $200-$500. I don't know if you'd want to pay that. Maybe it wouldn't be so high since they would be running db searches, but if you'd want a thorough job...it probably would cost that much.

No... but he does. If he's genuine about coming clean with your mother, that is. "Don't you trust me?" might be appropriate for coming home late. Not for a rape conviction.

Thanks! I'd been thinking about doing that -- glad to know that it's worth it.
Yeah, I totally second that.
On the lighter side - yesterday I went out and ran into a neighbor walking her dog. We chatted a bit, asked "how are you" and so on; I asked how the dog was - she has a delicate digestion, so this is always a subject of conversation. Neighbor replied that she had to wait until the dog "pooped" (her word) to see. So ... the proof is in the pooping?
Snerk
Hil, good luck with the pooch. I endorse training classes no matter how many animals you have trained. It is a great bonding experience. I can seem to find a group class for Zoe. For some reason all the ones I am finding are one on one. Annoying because I really want a group class.
Today is WindSparrow's birthday! May this day and those to follow treat Andi with the loveliness that she so generously bestows to all of us.
