Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Me too.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I talked to bonny for a bit -- she's frustrated (rightly so) by many things, chief among them being the way nurses come in with medication for her, but don't know why the doctor ordered it. Trying to get answers and otherwise be her own advocate is pretty exhausting, too.

They say she can go home tomorrow -- the rash isn't better, but no one is alarmed by it, which seems to be a cautious good sign. Benadryl isn't really helping, but the hospital added Pepcid (which actually helps with skin allergic reactions, although it doesn't work quickly). Since she's taking antibiotics for an infection, she almost certainly won't be given steroids for the rash, because steroids suppress the immune system.

All things considered, I thought she sounded pretty good. I hope I was helpful, even a tiny bit.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teppy, I'm so glad you were able to talk to Bonny tonight. I love it that buffistas have each others back.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So, uh, Nora, smonster, is anyone willing to go with me to Endymion or Bacchus or Orpheus?

Yes, I'm coming to town for Mardi Gras. Woot!

Which is a kickass way for Buffistas to have each others' backs!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm glad to hear that bonny is all right and getting the help she needs, despite how frustrating the caregivers are being.

eta I think an emergency contact list is a good idea too.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I spoke with Bonny again, and she would appreciate your prayers/good thoughts.

She has them. I am glad to hear she's getting care, if not that it is frustrating at times.

I'm always happy when I see how people really care here. Makes my Grinchy heart grow three sizes.

but the hospital added Pepcid (which actually helps with skin allergic reactions, although it doesn't work quickly

I hadn't realized this. Huh.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Dana, woo hoo! I didn't see any of those last year (chased Indians, watched some of truck parades, went home and collapsed) so I am up for any one of them!!

All my good thoughts and prayers are belong to bonny.

I hadn't realized this. Huh.

Wild, isn't it? Apparently there are histamine receptors in our tummies.

Bizarre. But since ulcers come from the h pylori bacterium and I have lots of unfun autoimmune but not debilitating things that feel pretty interrelated, I am not surprised once I think about it. I don't think we've even halfway figured out how bodies really work. Or what comes together (biomes) to make them work.

Histamines in our tummies should be a children's book. Seuss that up.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Those parades aren't on Mardi Gras. Endymion is Saturday, Bacchus is on Sunday, and Orpheus is Monday (all leading up to Mardi Gras.)

I am down with the two uptown parades, but probably won't make it out for Endymion. You have a place to watch? You can find us at 6th & St. Charles on the neutral ground.

Whee! Glad you're coming out!
