Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

It was our annual we survived the holidays/ first dateiversary (8 years!) night out.

Eight years! Wow! It seems like not too long ago that the two of you first started dating. Congratulations!

Yeppers. Congrats! Now now that I've met TCG, I have an actual picture of both of you in my head.

Our wings are not tired.

8 years! Wow, it really does seem so recently that we first heard about TCG. Congrats.

I am confident that you are already jealous that we are hosting Pix and ND for dinner tonight at Casa Holt. Since the weather outside is delightful we are going for a tropical grill variety, the kitchen is filled with wondrous aromas. With the intent not to make anyone suffer added jealously, but to encourage winter visits to Florida, the menu tonight: Tropical couscous salad made with orange juice, cumin, lime, basil, and other stuff; Cuban mojo marinated skewers of chicken tenders and shrimp (separate skewers because ick on mixing chicken and shrimp imo); more skewers of various veggies and fruits; and fried plantains because not quite tropical enough without them.

I do love to cook and do so often, but even I am drooling. Oh, and Bobby made me buy Sangria because he thought my usual wine varieties weren't quite right. Also the lady at Publix was giving out samples and it was tasty and organic and stuff.

I remember that teacup like it was yesterday.

Glam's picture is super cute. And OMG, how 8 years? I feel old now.

I am totally jealous of Pix and ND's dinner with Laura, ESPECIALLY with that menu (and also, that weather...I just walked home from brunch and froze my tuchus off)

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Went to home depot to return the tracks that didn't work and buy molding to cover the tracks that are hung. Seems we were only charged a penny for the tracks that didn't work. I was wondering how we left the other day for only $100. Hardly seemed worth returning. Except that it's less clutter in the house. Oh well. Now to hang to molding. Repair wall boards. And paint. I'll paint when it's not so rainy. That way I can open windows and it will dry fast.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Laura, that dinner sounds amazing!

Yeppers. Congrats! Now now that I've met TCG, I have an actual picture of both of you in my head.

Hopefully a good picture.

We're trying to get the house looking presentable for NYD. There's too much stuff.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Mmm Laura, that dinner sounds amazing. Lucky you, lucky Pix, and lucky ND.

I can't imagine grilling tonight. It is wet wet wet outside.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That sounds delightful, Laura (the menu and the company). I'll be hitting a bar and a restaurant with amyth and some mutual buds tonight.

I picked up a cookbook from a local Persian restaurant, which led to wandering around a Persian grocery for exotic (to me) ingredients like pomegranate syrup, saffron, and tahini. We'll see if I can turn these into food in my kitchen at some point.
