~ma for all travelers.
P-C, how wonderful about your mom's change of behavior. It's really difficult, raising parents sometimes.
I need to dive into my bedroom closet. We need to clear it back to the walls, relocate the shelf standards from an outside wall to the inside wall, and rehang the shelves. They're coated wire, which I hate, but we may not be able to afford replacing them, in which case I need to cut and tape cardboard to fit over them so I can slide baskets and boxes without snagging, and stuff doesn't fall through. When that wall o' shelves is done I can load everything back in, sorting and arranging as I go so I can *find stuff* when I need it.
But not today.
Noodles baked with cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, eggs & sugar. Then topping of graham cracker and sugar crumbs.
That sounds good. I'm not (having not eaten it) convinced about the noodles but shoe leather cooked like that would be delicious.
Whew!! Have arrived in Seattle, having taking one of the four airline flights I actually booked. But am ever so glad I didn't get stuck in Indy. Eesh. They did end up canceling bunches of flights, so if I hant gotten out yesterday, I'd still be there.
Of course, now I'm really wishing I'd taken tomorrow and/or Friday or Monday off...
Noodle pudding is delicious. Don't know how to spell it, but among Jews it is call Lucshen Koogle, and it is delicious. No crust needed or topping needed. And leave out the sugar, and put in a little salt and butter and you have delicious savory noodle pudding. The noodles add flavor and texture. egg noodles normally in my family.
Mmm, noodle kugel.
Glad meara got in okay, and fingers crossed Calli make it home, too!
Beverly, what a lovely and thoughtful gift. Yay DH.
Man, the Hobbit was exhausting. I did get some boots for work and a hat, not as much of a bargain as I had hoped.
My brother has been so damn cranky, I don't know what his damage is. It seems like every time I say anything to him he snaps at me. He's having self-imposed alone time, I hope it helps.
I love noodle kugel. Our family makes a savory one--yum! But crazy amounts of dairy fat, with sour cream, cream cheese, AND butter in it.
Etiquette question for alla y'all. A few months ago, my dad's side of the family had a reunion for the whole giant extended family, and I saw relatives I hadn't seen in years. One of my cousins who was there has a new wife, and I exchanged maybe 2 or 3 sentences with them (and this cousin is among those I haven't seen in years). His wife is expecting a baby in March, and I got a baby shower invitation today.
Can I just send a gift from their registry and a note? I might just be excessively post-holiday cranky today, but I feel like, Really? I haven't seen you for years, I didn't actually even know you were re-married or expecting a baby, and we exchanged maybe 3 sentences at the reunion, and you want me to go to a baby shower?
Send a small gift and skip the shower? Is that okay?
I think that's totally okay.
