might be time to look at buying a used car.
We've been trying this. We need $2K down before the "your credit is crappy" car dealership will talk to us.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you guys are good at working on cars at all, if you can scrape together the cash, the Volvo 240s are a good option. They're apparently ridiculously easy to work on, parts are everywhere, and the engine will run forever. Maybe even fiveever.
Ours cost us a whopping $800.

Pretty blouse, Aims!
Car~ma to all who need it. Cars are such a ridiculous money suck.
I just tried to get in to see my doctor today (I have three meds I need adjusted/refilled) so I wouldn't have to go to work, but no dice. Wednesday mid-morning is the first available. I guess it's off to work I go. At least a short day? I'm feeling on the edge of a panic attack, and really just want to go fetal for the rest of the day, but I can't tell if going to work will make it better or worse.
Ugh. I fear I will have to take another Facebook break because I don't seem to be able to ignore the gun loving posts. And I don't want to fight about it. I had to take a break after the election and just went back, and now this. I would make this place my only social place on the internet, but I like connecting with the relatives and other life friends there. Hate this.
Laura, is it a few people you can temporarily hide, so you don't see their posts?

This blindsided me. I expected conflict and ugliness around the election, and even though it was maddening at times, I was prepared. But all of the extreme pro-gun posts (arm all the teachers! There's no way that could end badly!) have caught me totally off-guard.
But then -- I don't remember if you have time to read Natter, Laura -- I found out last night that Tim and I are diametrically opposite on gun issues, via a very contentious argument. It was unpleasant. I did not sleep well or much last night. And I ate way too many of the Reese's Cups that le nubian sent us, because peanut butter is how I deal with stress.
And mostly I just don't want to deal. I have presents to wrap and too much shit to do between now and Christmas, and I don't want to deal with anything else.
I started having problems with onion as a teenager. I did okay with raw onion or thoroughly cooked onion, but partially-cooked ones took me right out--at both ends. I gradually lost the tolerance for raw onions at all, about the same time peppers decided they were seriously not my friend--even mild bell peppers--the sulphur burps and diarrhea were truly impressive, and incapacitating. H started pureeing onion to add to stews and soups, and I do pretty well with that. Or just adding an onion cut in half into a pot that will be cooking a long time. Apparently, it's onion solids that my system hates--pureed or whole and cooked for an hour or more, and solids removed before ingesting, I seem to be all right.
I miss peppers, though. Potatoes, tomatoes, nsm eggplant.
H and I have learned not to discuss things we disagree on, though I've taken him to task about some lifestyle intolerance. Apparently he backslid since his liberal college days into grumpy old fart conservative territory. Not having that. At least, not out loud. And not where it affects his behavior in public.
One of the reasons I'm glad to be taking my dog to see my mom's side of the family is that it gives us something cute and neutral to talk about. Everyone loves dogs, yay! (well, we all do).
I think... I am not going to work today. Blecccccccch.
The "Who's This?" shirt by Karen Hallion (Kate's friend) is up at Red Bubble!! [link] Hmm, maybe I'll add it to my Xmas list.
