Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Especially if they're getting $1000 from each of those six people! Though I know there are some that make men pay, but not women. Ever watched that Matchmaker show? It's awful, and her cattle calls for women really make me wonder WTF they are thinking.
Connie, that is basically the surgery I'm planning in January--they aren't taking off cataracts, but are putting in the lens so I don't need glasses anymore. It's hella expensive, but I figure in the long run it should save me money (and be awesome)

Yeah, I saw one of those shows. Matchmaker for the Millionaires, or some such. Kinda crazy.
One of the questions she asked was "are you only interested in women who are financially stable" or something to that degree. After she told the price, I was wondering if the women pay. I'm skeptical. But, free consult, can't hurt, right?
ION- I am not focusing very well today. Not quite caught up on sleep yet. It's the end of the quarter. Things are hitting calm right now. And brain just doesn't want to do anything. Plus, staying late tonight to see the final show of the quarter, and then we do a sound critique after. Not really in the mood for a show right now. But whatev. All piling up to say "brane no work now".
Because the surgery is for cataracts, an actual medical issue, my insurance will cover it. I've just gotten so used to Medicare covering everything my insurance doesn't for Hubby that I've gotten out of practice at dealing with medical costs.
I'm also fighting hard against the "I don't deserve the more expensive option, I can make do with the cheaper one" voices.
re: the actual surgery, meara, are you getting the multi focus lens? My astigmatism is complicating the issue, but it looks like they'd put in a near vision lens in one eye and a far vision lens in the other eye and let my brain figure out the processing.
Ah, no, Connie. I have a small amount of astigmatism, but the doctor felt he could deal with that, and if it continued to bother me would be very easy to deal with using Lasik. Oddly, the astigmatism ones are approved in Canada but not here. I don't need bifocals yet, so that's not an issue for me.
(ETA:
looks like they'd put in a near vision lens in one eye and a far vision lens in the other eye and let my brain figure out the processing.
I'd worry about that--I know some people that works for but others who have given up and gone back to bifocals because they couldn't get used to it.Which is one thing if it's a trial pair of contacts, but another thing if they're implanted in your eyes!)
sj, you win at Friday!
NSM. I'm home now without my prescription. The first time I went to go get it they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. So, I went to TJ's and went back to the pharmacy 45 minutes later, and once again was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I told them I would come back tomorrow, and there may have been a swear involved.

This is the type of contact I wear and my brain loves it.
My mom wears the different lenses also and thinks it's grand. I'd want to test drive that sort of brain-trickery with contact lenses before getting any kind of surgery.
For Bev and anybody else not on Facebook, Matilda feeding Jon. B.'s son, Aaron (the AWB) at our house.
I have to say I love particularly the pictures I've got of my kids with other Buffista sprog: Matilda and Lily, Emmett and Dillo and Casper, Dylan and Matilda hanging out.
Uh oh, I think Malachi got something in his eye. He keeps winking at me (but only with his right eye) and then attempting to groom that eye. Poor silly beast. Now how on earth am I gonna get a cat to stay still for eye irrigation????
I hope Malachi's eye sorts itself out.
And both children in that picture, David, are adorable. The grownup's pretty cute, too!
