Well, we may not have parted on the best of terms. I realize certain words were exchanged. Also, certain... bullets. But that's air through the engine. It's past. We're business people.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

You all are funny. He came with the name Patch. We would have renamed him Newton because he is inertia dog, but by the time we adopted him we'd already been calling him Patch for ten days, so it was too hard wired to change. I choose to think about the fact that he had a rough patch for the beginning of his life, but now he's in for a lifetime of happiness.

Bev, you made me laugh! In all seriousness, we have all the pets enrolled in VIP pet insurance after the $10000 vet bill year back in 2008 when Byron and Zoe both had major surgeries and hospitalizations. We are still paying off that debt, andI never want to be in that position again. It's awful to have to weigh financial solvency with your pet's life. The peace of mind the insurance gives me is well worth the monthly fee.

I did not have Long Islands. I did, however, have a delicious peach crepe for dessert tonight.

Also, I then had to pretend to be sober at my parents house. I feel like I'm fifteen

Hah! That's adorable.

I came back from Leavenworth with the roomie (not the federal pen in Kansas but the Christmas barfed on German Disney in Washington). It was actually fun and very put me in the Christmas sprinting. Also I got both a rocketship cookie cutter and a unicorn one!

And then I went bowling with the girl and made a dirty bet for the winner. Fun.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Isn't Leavenworth a hoot? We've never been at Christmastime, but just driving through the village brings back kitschy Bavaria.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My laptop is broken. It's still under manufacturer's warranty, but it may take a month to fix. I may end up buying a cheap tablet in the meantime.

move out and draw fire

I did not get a margarita, as I ended up having to take a migraine pill (I can never remember what they are, but it's like Bucephalus so that's what I call them, plus they are the size of horse pills).

It knocked me on my ass as usual, and I had really wacky dreams, including one where California approved licenses for flying cars, so SF got flying trolleys.

I want to live in Raq's dream world.

Better than my dream of running around decrepit parts of Chicago looking for a murder, while BBC's Sherlock pops up occasionally. Less fun than it should have been because he was more interested in the 20-something girl with the short black hair, whoever the hell she was. Even in my dreams I'm too old.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Better than my dream of running around decrepit parts of Chicago looking for a murder

Actually not that hard a task these days.

Thrive to spite them

I woke up again early. i had to take my car into the shop for oil change and to check why my brake fluid was low. Walked the mile and a half home because the weather is nice.

Heard back as to why my brake fluid is low - a leak in the capilier that needs to be fixed. That with the other stuff (oil change, check my battery, fix stopped up nozzle for windshield fluid) is going to cost me more than I want to spend. But they can get it ready for me today. So at least I won't be another day without a car.

I also accidentally pulled out one of the double points in the knitting project that has so far gone smoothly. I had trouble getting the needle back in so I'm going in for help with that tomorrow.

My dreamself has incorporated big city safety practices, though, it told me not to take the elevator in the rundown apartment building but to take the stairs. I'm much healthier in my dreams.
