Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yes, generally less talky here--for the above mentioned devices adoption rather than being chained to a desktop. Phones and pads and things just aren't conducive to discussion, really. We are more often a nation of blipverts, and twitter and fb cater to that sort of, well, I hesitate to call it "communication", but the actual exchange of ideas *has* more or less given way to a rapidfire cross-opinion and fly sort of posting, with "like" options so you don't have to take time to formulate words at all.

Except for blogs, maybe. But even there it's call and response, rather than actual discussion or conversation. I can't think of another place besides here that offers that block party sort of clump and natter, move on to another group and subject, till something else catches your ear kind of online space. I miss it, frankly. But then I'm a walking anachronism, so there you go.

Oh, askye, the hat looks super cute. And those handwarmers are gorgeous! I love the crap out of my handwarmers. I must have a dozen pairs, some of them cheap woven gloves with the fingers cut off, some of them boughten fingerless gloves, some mitts with thumbs, and some of my favorites are the worn-out socks with the toes cut out, some of them with slits cut in the sides for thumbs.

I do have to judge when to wear the mitts with thumbs, though. Arthritis in both thumbs makes them hate pressure some days--those are the days for socks on my hands.

Once I finish my aunt's pair I'm making a pair for myself in wool. My fingers FREEZE at the computer - I'm by a window and it's really cold

It's amazing how big a difference blocking a draft can make. I've been thinking the window by my computer is what is making me cold.

No, it's the draft from the door leadign to the basement. I put the felt strip in to block it, hung up a blanket to block off the open part of my living room. And then I had some cardboard I was going to recycle so I put that in front of the door as well (these were big pieces). My apartment feels so much warmer.

Okay I did turn up the heat but I no longer feel like I'm sitting in an ice block.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Love those projects, askye.

I am certainly less chatty - no more desk job means I catch up on my phone at lunch and at night at home.

Of course when I am reading both Natter and Bitches I have run out of time to actually post by the time I catch up.

And there's this. Plus, I feel like I thread hog with all my issues, let me show you them, so... sometimes I try not to.

Not to mention, getting old and need my sleep. Speaking of, time for bed.

eta forgot - yay for Scrappy's mom!!

YAY Scrappy's mom!

I just realized I have the wrong size needles (I have one size up) and I'm not which pattern I want to make. So, I'll call the yarn shop tomorrow instead of going in. I feel kinda bad for bothering the owner of the yarn shop but she says it's okay to go in for help.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Of course she wantd you to go in. the more comfortable you are at her shop the better for her. Besides, you're nice.

yay for Scappy's mom.

I know I'm less talky because of full time work. which is 1/2 or more computer time. I do the fb page for the library , but I have no excuse to be here.

I should try to knit my first row again

I feel bad because I've been in there 3 days in a row. I think I'll just call tomorrow after my therapy appointment.

beth - I found knitting circular helped me really learn, somehow turning was giving me problems but knitting in a circle made it easier.

However, in the Abilify front. I think it's helping. I started taking it in the morning and the last few days have been easier for me to sleep. Even easier than before I was taking the Abilify. I need to spend about 15 minutes cleaning, I'm behind on dishes and laundry.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Oops. Mental note to self: there are 2 doors between the bathroom sink and the huge front window overlooking the heavily trafficked sidewalk in front of your single story home. Close one of those doors before doing morning ablutions stark nekkid. I happened to notice some movement in the mirror and lo and behold it was my friend's husband on the sidewalk, wondering if I was home. Thankfully he didn't get an eyeful, but that could have been rather embarassing.
