I didn't make it to the gym today. I overdid it with core exercises yesterday, and my stomach rebelled. With the stomach ick and general exhaustion I did not have enough spoons to do errands with friend and work out, so I chose errands because I had already made plans to do that and I need a few things to bring with me to Mom's next week.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
we used that rail system and these types of panels
for our closet -- I lose too much space with sliders and bifold doors are expense and we have very little space in our 10 by 10 bedroom . and with a little effort the faric panels vould be any thing
for an nontraditional solution
omnis, could you hang a cheap spring loaded curtain rod and some inexpensive curtains while trying to decide what to do about closet doors?
"You're his daughter? You shouldn't be in here; you should be out running. A LOT. And you should weigh about 116 pounds."
FYYFF!
Ginger, thanks for the link! Those are pretty cool options. I've been clicking around about an hour now! And yes, the Ikea option is rising up. Add a little trim woodwork to the top of the closet, and maybe a hinged door of some sort on the side, make that area a super short closet rod, to hang tall things (suits, coats, etc) on? Attach to wall and side of Ikea wardrobe? Maybe? I dunno. This is when I hate the libra in me. I will sit here and debate the different options ad nauseum. Of course, the advantage of the Ikea, is it has doors, which are needed. And the advantage of either of these options is, possible to buy now, and install in a weekend, vs the expensive custom guys, which will be months before able to install.
Beth & SJ, thanks for your ideas too (sorry, left Gingers post open while looking at her link and didn't reload the page).
Oi. So, my roommate has announced that he's moving out by January 1st. Not really sure what to do from here. I don't know that my apartment is fit for sharing with people I don't know. I'm getting tired of the freelance uncertainty, and am kind of looking for something steady, but I have been doing what I do for so long, I'm not sure how to do other stuff, or what I'd really want to do. Plus, without a license or transportation, I feel so limited in where I can go to look for work. I *really* don't want to leave Los Angeles, but that might have to happen if I can't find some way to step it up around here, or some better way to make a living (which I don't seem to be doing as well at lately).
Feh.
So, Teppy, was Dr. Douche a remarkably fit individual? A shining example to us all?
Omnis, if you could get everything else to work out, how about a shower curtain rod and shower curtain as a temporary solution until you figure out what kind of door you want? I can get a spring loaded plastic shower curtain rod for a $ at my local $ store and a shower curtain for another buck. Wont look great, but for two bucks you won't feel bad when you throw them out in favor of your permanent solution.
omnis, is there any way you could frame and drywall to narrow the closet opening, so it would accept a hinged door? Does the doorway need to be the full width of the closet? Our big bedroom walk-in is eight feet wide, with a standard door entry centered on that width. Just an idea.
On the other hand I really like the sliding fabric panels--sort of like shoji screens.
