And dang, JZ, you definitely kicked your to-do list's ass today!

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
You deserve a martini and a gold star.
My first serious boyfriend had a half siamese cat. He was chatty as hell. And huge.
Neither Dean nor Maddie were chatty cats. Occasionally Dean would make some noise but it was unusual. Penny is somewhat vocal but not a lot.
I got her this to entertain her [link]
She loves it. It took her a bit to figure out how to get the ball over the hump but she's a champ at it. I think I'm going to ask for a second track for Xmas so she can have more fun and 2 of the balls to chase.
Will thinks I should wait until spring maybe to think about an additional cat. This one happened to hit the parameters I set (adult, male, where I could verify his health history, needs a home because someone is moving / or cant' keep for other reason).
I get it. I'm waiting for serendipity to bring me my next cat. If it wasn't for the width of the continent separating us, I'd be very interested in this one. Waiting a bit makes sense, though. Best of luck whichever way you go.

He knows you really well and wants the best for you.
Consider giving yourself some time. Even a wonderful cat who needs a home can't replace what you've lost. There are other homes. And there will, in time, be other wonderful cats.
OMG, the guy I was afraid would rise to the bait just posted that he wasn't commenting out of respect to [me]. I'm floored at the level of politeness. He may be kicked off the internet for that.
That's awesome, Epic.
askye, I wish you wisdom in knowing when to find your next kitty. You've had such a hard time.
Mad props to JZ on TCOB!!! Way to go.
I have friends in, and we had one hell of a day yesterday. There was a series of minor mishaps and travel difficulties that included fire ants, a piece on my car coming loose, some pretty terrible fried seafood, and an impossible to find swamp walk, that was kind of condemned, that we walked anyway.
Then we had dinner at my house, and RI came over too. That was fun. Today is the Treme Creole Gumbo Fest, then dinner out, and then I think I'm going to drop them in the Quarter to hear music. I need down time and time with D.
I think D has hit a wall and is ready to be done with all this. Unfortunately, he still has a way to go. Blergh, poor dude.
Kitties tend to find you. Cosmo literally fell out of a tree and crawled on my lap!
GUMBO FEST! Where's ma damn transporter beam?
Ready to be done with a festive weekend, or the ankle healing thing? Because, man, I feel him. (Um!) My freaking wrist STILL hurts and I have to baby it, and it's been almost 6 months. And I'm DOING all my exercises!
I am working, cleaning my GODAWFUL MESSY office today (or at least chipping away at some of it, and going to a (free) psychic fair with two of my girlfriends.
I don't have money for a reading, and I know that most of it's straight-up cons or just common sense, reading a person's body language and reactions and the person hearing what they want to hear. Hell, I used to read Tarot and I was damned good at it (sent a girl crying out of a party once from a reading, never met her before, but her friend looked freaked and was all "Everything you said about her situation was dead true") but not because I'm psychic, but because I'm analytic and weave a good story. (This was in my pre-cheerful agnosticism days, when I was trying on Wicca. It didn't quite fit.)
So. I find them interesting, but while I (duh) find extrasensory and supernatural ideas interesting, I am mostly a skeptic. I've had one or two freaky things happen, but nothing that couldn't be explained by science or psychology...but...

There is hope for mankind after all.

I've got friends in town from SLC, one has never been to the east coast before so that's a treat. They got ankle tattoos yesterday and they're both limpin'. Today, fortunately, they're seeing Book of Mormon so not too much walking around.
The tattoos look awesome though. The bassist of one of our favorite bands did them. We went down the shore for them so I finally saw it first hand... pretty staggering and it was a relatively less-damaged area.
