Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I didn't realize it's a holiday weekend. Being a state job, I normally get Veterns Day off. But I've been tasked with designing the dance show. So I get to work all weekend, and Monday too. Blah. Want day(s) off.

Dana, I had the same nap experience. Even when I'd try to wake myself up, I'd get caught in that loop. Completely unrestful nap.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That is, like, the opposite of a nap.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I get that, too. Very disconcerting

I'm getting these when I don't realise I'm falling asleep. So disorienting.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm working all weekend too, omnis, and I don't get Monday off, so at least you are not alone. The kids have Monday off, but luckily so does DH.

Who's got two thumbs and is the worst hostess in the world?

THIS KID RIGHT HERE!

"Fresh baked blueberry muffins for breakfast" sounds eight kinds of Martha Stewart rad until the damned fire alarm GOES OFF and WON'T STOP GOING OFF.

Priceless.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Heh, Trudy!

Sorry, that does suck! But I'm still laughing. Because (a) I've done pretty much that and (b) I'm mean.

Mostly B.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Trudy, in one of our apartments the smoke alarm would go off all the time when I cooked.

I need more shopping help from buffistas. I'm looking for a non-wool, non-down winter coat that is still warm, at least knee length, preferably petite, and not much more than $100. I think I may be kidding myself that I am going to find this, but if anyone has any website suggestions I'd be very grateful.

The status is NOT quo.

Yep, I'm working tomorrow for an admissions open house at school and Monday for regular classes...but I have the whole thanksgiving week "off" (in reality, I will have 36 long papers that need extensive feedback and seven college recs to write and all the prep for hosting another big Thanksgiving). I'm really looking forward to not having to be on such a strict schedule, though. Also, Megan Walker will be down visiting, which makes me very happy. I haven't seen her in way too long.

The Squall line of coats/jackets at Lands End uses fleece instead of down or wool for warmth. They are more expensive than I like but right now there is a 30% off sale plus free shipping that brought the cost of a parka down to just over $100. They only have a few styles but I'm pretty sure that one was a knee length coat.
