D went to the ortho today, and the news is not good (though it is what I suspected/feared). He needs surgery on his ankle and is pretty much bedridden for the next week so the swelling will go down enough to operate. I'm back at his place right now, after enjoying a wonderful dinner and Wonder Woman movie with Tom and Nora. He had a freakout but seems to be mostly over it. Insurance~ma and recovery~ma would not go amiss.
eta holee shit. I didn't realize you are eligible for COBRA if you quit. He's still in his window. Oh, please please please please...
