I had a total blast last night. Thursdays are our line dancing nights. So we went out to the country bar last night and they had a surprise concert instead of the house band. It was an 80's hair band cover group called Hairball. They were fantastic. There were three lead singers who would dress as various 80's singers and take turns singing a couple of songs before moving on to the next hair band. There was KISS, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Bret Michaels, Prince (!), Axel Rose, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Freddie Mercury, Motley Crue, and AC/DC. And I know I'm missing a few.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Is anybody familiar enough with NJ geography to tell me whether Belford was hit super-hard by the storm? I still haven't gotten in touch with the Aunt & Uncle who live there. I spoke to another cousin in NJ who's okay and seems not over-concerned for them, but also hasn't been able to get a hold of them. I'm not usually a worrier, but I am starting to be a bit concerned...
Anyway - communication-ma for Aunt D & Uncle L, if you wouldn't mind...
Looks like it's right on the coast.
Looks like it was pretty hard hit.
Looks like it's right on the coast.
That's what I thought I remembered.
Looks like it was pretty hard hit.
Dang.
Well, thanks for the info. Fingers crossed, candles lit, worrying continues...
I hope that they went inland.
I did hear from my old friend from when I lived in south Jersey: and they didn't even lose electricity. You just never know.
(But they are low but fairly inland.)
I hope that they went inland.
Yeah. There're no other "grownup" relatives there - just their 2 sons & the other 2 cousins who haven't heard from them either. But I'm sure they have friends, etc. around. I sent a friend request to their younger (but more responsible) son - hopefully he'll respond and know what's up...
Epic, I hope they are safe and you hear something soon.
Family safety~ma, Epic.
Just started hearing from some shore people today, Epic. They're cold and tired but they're ok.
Lots of inland areas have lost power and still don't have it back. Even if they did evacuate they may be unable to call.
And even if they DIDN'T evacuate, they're on the coast but not on an island. A lot of the most horrible pictures are from places where the bay met the ocean - which won't be the situation for them.
Hang in there. The death toll has been remarkably low. They're completely miserable but safe.
