Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yeah, that case was never going to turn out differently.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, okay, thanks! I should have known that.

I'm going to try to sleep now. Work is closed again tomorrow and I'm going shopping for trousers and shoes for England. I have nothing acceptable.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

At Wicked tonight, they were fundraising for the Broadway Cares charity. $20 raffle tickets with a prize of getting a walk-on role in one performance of Wicked! Why yes, I bought one. Please oh please let me win. I swear I won't mug Elphaba for her hat OR Galinda for her wand. Swear.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Galactus, I believe. Marvel Comics, Eater of Worlds, creator of the Silver Surfer.

In retrospect, duh. Big headed guy, likes purple, word's not back on Prince yet? He's a cranky one, sometimes, you have to be really grateful for a Norrin Radd or two around the place.

In fact, it's best to stock up during Raddilicious periods. You never know when he'll show up. Well, apart from Norrin Radd coming by...I sense a potential flaw in my plan--but try it! Worst comes to worst, you've got extra Norrins to take with you into the void.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My rule is, no treats (I give pretzel packets instead of candy) for kids over 3 feet tall. Mostly. I set up early for the toddler set and run out really, really quickly.

My feeling is that the toddlers really have no idea what's going on, and mostly seem confused by the whole thing. The older kids are the ones who are actually having fun with it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

and they're doing that tired old trope of trying to get diplomatic immunity revoked.

Yeah, that was ridiculous even for this show.

Compassionately intolerant

Zen gets it in one!

The toddlers in the 'hood were all pretty confused. I can't tell you the number of times parents said,"You are her very first trick or treat!" Then they take a picture with, "Smile for the nice nun, honey!"

It's very sweet.

We have LOTS of parents dressing up and whole families in theme costumes.

The Hellboy family rally is the coolest. Each year they do something super geeky that I'm pretty much the only one who gets.

I'll never forget the teeny tiny girl dressed as Pigwidgen one year. Everyone else thought she was a turkey.

I've lived at this very busy corner for 14 years. Prior to that there were actually zero children in this neighborhood. My how things have changed.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

My fave of the littles was a little pumpkin, about 3, who just held out his pail and said, "Please?" I said, "Can you say 'Trick or Treat'?" He said, "Yes," but nothing more. I shrugged and figured I'd take his word for it. (So cute!)
