Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

meara, the plots of the proposed structures might be available online on your local government website.

The flyer claimed they would be, but when I looked in that spot, it said only in person. I called and left a message asking.

It's not a "community", it's just one plot of land--it's OK in Seattle to build townhouses behind other townhouses, on a plot. Currently my house (part of a triplex) is behind a single family home--I can enter it walking through an easement sidewalk past the SFH, or exit via my garage out the alley in back. You can't see my house from the street, really.

The place next to where they're building is four town houses, two and two--and all their parking is in the alley (one duplex faces the street, the other is behind it, and behind that is the alley). I'm hoping those folks might have opinions, because (a) their townhouses are even more expensive than mine--I figure they're Real Adults, and (b) they already banded together once to buy a dumptruck full of gravel to try to fill in some of the holes in our alley (I saw them pouring it and gave them $20).

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Huh. Never mind, then. I guess Seattle has more problems with crowding/lack of space than we do here.

Thrive to spite them

meara that doesn't sound fun. I would protest as much as possible.

Will called and I drove down and met him for dinner. We went to the Mexican place I like but haven't been to in a long time. There was wait but it wasn't bad and I was torn between the Chicken Mole and Carnitas Verde. I've never actually had mole sauce before and figure it was time.

I was expecting something - complex tasting, but spicy and maybe bitter, with an undertone of unsweetened chocolate. What I got tasted, not like a dessert chocolate sauce, but it wasn't spicy at all, it was kind of sweet, the chocolate flavor was really strong. It was disappointing.

Tomorrow Will's coming up early because I have my 2nd sock class and he's busy in the afternoon. We'll have breakfast, I need to go to the bank and we're finally taking out the window a/c. And I need to get a few more provisions and take the threat of possibly losing power during FrankenHurricagdon. Or whatever this storm is being called. Snowicane?

askye, how hard is VT expected to get hit?

askye - Oct 26, 2012 3:43:01 pm PDT #21901 of 30001
Thrive to spite them

There hasn't been a definitive word. It depends on which way Sandy goes and the strength and stuff like that.

Here's this informationhttp://blogs.burlingtonfreepress.com/weather/2012/10/26/friday-evening-update-sandy-still-a-vermont-menace/

But the minimum that's being forecast is : high winds, rain, and minor flooding in areas including those hit by Irene. But the possibility of major flooding if there's more rainfall or the system stalls.

It looks like most models put the majority of the damage in Southern Vermont.

Steph, I don't think there's a prediction for the flooding to be as bad as Irene, but the flooding will probably hit the same areas.

Ooh, me too!
