You know, when you (and by "you," I mean "me") have a painful but more-or-less benign ladyparts issue (Bartholin's cyst; feel free to google, but I don't recommend image-googling, for reasons I am about to explain), it's REALLY freaky to image-google it and get a photo of SURGERY, complete with scalpel being used in the photo, as one of the top hits.

Not cool, Google Images.

Relatedly, OW. Worst place ever to get a benign cyst. I'm hoping my notoriously difficult-to-get-an-appointment-with OB/GYN can get me in this week. (And I really hope my future doesn't hold a re-creation of that Google Images picture.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Laura, thanks. That is good to know. I wondered if the two things might be related.

Teppy, ouch. That sounds very unfun.

I am having a lovely night. TCG and I are both still exhausted, but we had theatre tickets, so we went to RI to see a production of King Lear, the dinner at a yummy restaurant we had a gift certificate to, and finally, dessert at my all time favorite place ever. Dinner for me was ricotta and spinach gnocchi in a tomato basil sauce and TCG had a lemony chicken dish over pasta. We shared a side of fries with parmgiano reggiano with truffle oil. For dessert I had a cappuccino and a banana cream pie, and TCG had an herbal tea and helped me with the pie. Nom nom nom.

They're a recurring thing for me, but usually not so painful. Which might mean infection, and ISTG if I have to take more antibiotics (after my endless rounds of antibiotics for my dental saga), I will cry and cry. (OTOH, it hurts, so if antibiotics will help, then okay.)

My uncle is still in the hospital (it's been nearly a month now, I think). His other lung is infected now, and my aunt is really freaked out and not handling any of this very well. I'm very worried about the both of them; any ~ma that can be spared would be really appreciated.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Steph, various skin cysts are not uncommon in my family. Can you get a topically-applied antibiotic next time, instead of a systemic oral AB?

I haven't seen my OB/GYN yet, so if it comes down to antibiotics, I'll ask about that, definitely. Thanks!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hil's landlord can't call an ACTUAL exterminator, an ACTUAL exterminator would tell her that in a 100+ year old building it is impossible to seal every single pencil-eraser sized hole and that mice come in when the weather changes and they'll eat frikkin' wiring if they have a mind to and its not because Hilary got crazy and shoved peanut butter in her electrical sockets. Then s/he would set traps and stuff steel wool and in an actually effective organized fashion and re-check the situation in x number of weeks.

Thrive to spite them

Made an appt fordp Dean for tomorroew and then he took a turn. At the vet he's lost 2 lbs and his back emd is floppy. He had trouble with his front leg this morning. But at the vet he walked fine and jumped on the exam table twice. Waiting for the vet now.

askye, I hope the vet sorts out what's going on!

Hilariously, my ladyparts issue is a LOT better today. So I'm not calling the OB/GYN (I've had these cysts in the past, and they generally resolve on their own; this one just seemed too painful -- until this morning). Apparently I should just post a resolution to take action on something, and then it will get better.

Okay, my bank account is sort by a million bucks. I will call the bank about that!

::waits for $1,000,000 to show up in bank account::

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

askye, that is so scary. Were Dean and Maddie siblings?
