Uh, are we gonna fight, or is there just gonna be a monster sarcasm rally?

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Zen, do you have any links to those, with webpages without rodent pictures?

We have a few of those, and I think they work. I haven't heard any skittering noises, and the cat hasn't stared intently into corners.

I think I have a much higher tolerance for visitors like that, because I grew up in an old house in the country, and intruders are kind of inevitable.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Amazon has some of them here. There's a rodent in the second photo so don't look at any of the alternate photos, Hil. Reviews seem mixed on whether they work, but they're cheap enough I'd try them.

OMG. I got sleep last night, and I totally was like "OK, I didn't get much work done this afternoon, but I'm going to clean and tidy and get shit done tonight! And/or catch up on TiVo!" And instead, I think I'm going to bed. At 8:30PM. Because I've been contemplating it for an hour and don't even have the energy to turn on the tv and concentrate on a show.

Only problem is the cat is cuddling me on the couch. Hmm....sleep on couch?

Just got this email from her:

As we spoke about this evening, you need to keep clean (wherever you may find yourself). If you are unable to do so, I most certainly will come in to handle the matter for you on a regular basis. The line is drawn: no further problems may ensue, after this episode is concluded (I am hoping that another mouse will come forward).
If you are phobic, as you assert, the implication is that you will do anything possible to avoid inviting them. If you find that you cannot, as above, I will, count on me.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Hil, I think you need to get a legal professional to write up a "this is unacceptable behavior and not within the parameters of your lease" letter.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

sounds to me like you need to find a Web site for tenant rights in your area.

Because books.

Go right to the housing board in your town and show them the email, if you can't find it clearly enough in the lease. There's no way that's legal.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Hmm....sleep on couch?
Meara, I do it all the time. I've found that getting up from the recliner will get me out of sleepy head state. So, fall asleep in the recliner until second sleep break. So, you can do it too. It's perectly legit.

Hil, she is crossing into the creepy zone. I agree, you need legal advice. When you respond, some wording about crumbs do not create rodents, but holes in the building will let them in. Please fix the house before invading my privacy. And remind her that the previous tenant had a cat. And put out there, that you've never had rodent problems before.

IOmeN- holy cow, this week is non-stop. I was hoping to make tomorrow a half day, since I've gone 2 weeks now with no day off (already at 86 hours). Worn out. And suddenly tomorrow has 3 meetings. It was so much quieter when there are no students around. But then, I suppose, I'd be out of a job.

Our wings are not tired

I think the issue that Hil is facing is that this landlord shares the property. While the behavior is probably not totally legal and is out of bounds jumping to housing board and legal action could make for an extremely uncomfortable living situation.
