meara, the signs of a secondary bacterial infection are generally a fever and thick yellow/green mucus. The latter is debated, but for me it's pretty reliable for bronchitis.

Hmm. My chest def hurts (as does my whole body and my stomach, for some reason). Especially if I try to breathe deeply. But it isn't a sharp pain like I pulled something or broke a rib.

Oh, I think it's a GREAT idea for people other than me. I just always assume I'm just being whiny, and that I'm not really as ill as I feel.
(Why yes, Pete was the one who dragged me to the doctor last year for the various tests that gave me my diagnosis. Left to my own devices, I probably wouldn't have gone, and I'd be even more unwell now.)

I'm always torn between not adding to the overuse of antibiotics and the knowledge that 90 percent of the time, my colds turn into horrible mutant infections with racking coughs.
