Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Nora, turn the phone off, get under the covers, ignore the world. If ya got Netflix, I say, watch 2 seasons of Buffy and call me in the morning.

Work is paying for us to go to a Cirque Symposium again. It's this weekend. It's been a very productive week. Also, very tiring week. I kinda just want to sit at home and go blah. Watch some baseball. unpack some boxes. And go blah. Alas, when work pays for a cool conference, ya really should go. It's local. So nothing expensive, aside from gas and lunch. Plus, I'm afraid if I say no now, they may stop offering in future. At least the traffic gods were kind. Got here 45 minutes early. Registered and found the building were the sound stuff is. And have 30 minutes to spare. And, free Wi-fi! So, maybe I can monitor the Yankee game while sitting in the seminar (thank you AT-BAT for the iPad). Let's hope there are tables in the room like last year.

Sail, sounds like we've had the same ciders! I was also not a huge fan or the apple ginger. It was fine, but I expected something more like cider meets ginger beer!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Exactly. Just not enough bite for me.

Sounds like a day to cuddle up in bed and read good pr0n fic to me, Nora. Or as omnis suggested, sleep more. I'm tucked under a warm blanket in my comfy chair watching the rain out my window and feeling no guilt at all.

At least my bread and butter pudding finally finished cooking. It is very custard-y. Definitely doing a water bath next time. Still, it is very nom. NOMNOM.

Thrive to spite them

I had Original Sin one day that has champagne yeast so it's kinda of bubbly and light tasting.

I found Mackenzie's (I think that's the name) Black Cherry Cider. It's sweet more like a sweet wine.

Mostly I have Woodchuck because it's local and everywhere. I've tried Summer, Fall, Amber, Granny Smith, Pear, and 802. Of those the only one I didn't really like was the Granny Smith, it was really tart. The summer is really light, the Fall you can really taste the cinnamon and nutmeg it's like cold mulled cider. And I can't remember what the 802 tasted like. (802 is the area code for Vermont).

I threw some Amber in my Experimental Stew and I liked it so I'm going to try that again.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I may have to buy All The Cider now.

Nora, big ol' phooey. Just remember that there will be lots of super awesome things next weekend, and the weekend after that, and after that, NOLA forever and ever amen. Stay in. Rest. How's Tom doing? Can I bring you anything or do anything for you? Just holla atcher girl.

Ducked out of the queerlesque event last night. Too crowded, too loud, just wasn't in the mood for it. Stayed over at D's, he had to leave early for a rugby game so he left me a key. Uh. I have a key to his place. NBD. Just enjoy the moment, smonster.

Had an hour-long meeting with my boss and a client this morning, where we walked her through the work we want to do on her house and gave her a rough estimate. I really like being in on those meetings, and my boss seems to like how I handle being there. I bring my laptop with pictures, so they can see examples of our work and safety procedures and a couple little videos of "after" windows all cleaned up and working smoothly.

RI is coming over and we are going to be mutually productive and then hopefully bike downtown for some festin'.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

After reading all this talk about cider, I ended up have an ACE pear cider last night. It was tasty.

I am at my gay country dance convention, but although I left the dance early last night and was asleep before midnight, and didn't get up until 9 AM I still was so tired I took one class, then napped for two hours. I just had to drink a red bull because I have a small extra-cost class now and don't want to fall asleep!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am drinking the pumpkin cider. I think I might be too full from dinner (Lamb Korma), because I am not being blown away by pumpkin flavor. It's still a good *cider,* but not terribly *pumpkin.*

(I'm also working VERY hard at not murderizing Tim because we are running ridiculously late to meet friends for a Halloween thing. He's in the bedroom trying various things on, then changing stockings [I think he decided on the evil nurse costume, which is a nurse's outfit, only black PVC] and changing stockings again, then asking me to clean his shoes, since he changed his mind 3 times about the shoes. This is par for the course around here, and it generally doesn't make me lose my mind, so I'm not sure why now, all of a sudden, I'm ready to just rip his pancreas out with my teeth.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think I want these shoes.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Tim sounds like me, getting dressed to go out. I have to start about two hours before a normal person would, because I'll change outfits at least three times.
